Can't think of a title!

My mind is blank, and instead of just staring at the screen going duhh... I just decided to start typing. I just got back from Chatanooga. I finally got to go the shop there - Genuine Purl. It was a great little shop! They had Rowan yarns and my new favorite RYC Cashsoft dk. Of course I had to get a few things... the new Rowan Mag (#38), RYC Classic Holiday, and a few skeins of Cashsoft to make the Crocheted Swing Bag from the Holiday book. I can't wait to go back! :) I've also been working on a few things....

Kool-aid sock
A little more progress on my Kool-aid sock.

And since I had to get some 12" circulars to start my hourglass sleeve I got a couple other things from Knit Happens...

new stash
Lorna's Laces in the Vera colorway, and the new Debbie Bliss book "Simply Soft."

While in Chatanooga I taught my friends how to knit and one picked up on it right away. I was so excited, and so was she. Hopefully she stays with it. It would be great to actually have a knitting friend! Well, not much else. I have to get ready for work soon. Fun, fun!! Write more later!

Another Quick Update!

I just had to share my Cutaway Cardi sleeve. It seems to be taking me a long time on these little needles! I do like the way it's coming out. I love the color, and it's soooo soft!

Sockpal-2-za socks received!

I received my socks yesterday and they are so cute! Lu from Maglia knit them for me. She included a post card from the Big Island along with some Hawaiian candies. It really made me miss the time I lived in Hawaii! I loved those candies, probably ate way too many of them!! Here's a couple pics...

Socks from my sock pal

Thank you again Sock Pal! I love them! Now I definitely need to get mine out to my sock pal today. Being sick has really slowed me down! I'm finally starting to feel a little better though. I started some new socks the other day....

Kool-aid socks

This is my Kool-Aid sock. I dyed this yarn a while ago and finally decided to knit it up to see how it would look. It's bright, but cute. They definitely smell good! :)

Finished Ankle Socks!

I finished my ankle socks tonight. They're not perfect, but I like them. I think they'll be great to throw on when the weather starts to get chilly. Here's a pic....

Ankle socks

They're really not that bright... it's the flash. Oh well! :) I'm still so sick. My throat still hurts so bad. I just wish the pain would go away!! Hopefully tomorrow it will be better. Well, not much else. Write more later!

Still Sick...

I went home early today... I made it a whole 4 hours. I just feel so out of it, and my throat hurts so bad. I've gargled salt water, taken loads of Excedrin and Tylenol Cold. I felt bad leaving early, but I was really no help there. I just couldn't function normally. So I'm taking it easy in my hubby's recliner watching the Braves game with my laptop on my lap. This is the life... now if I could just get the kids to go sleep. I love them, but I should've taken them to grandma's for tonight.

Well, along with my Cutaway Cardi I've been working on a pair of ankle socks using Alison's pattern. It's my first time doing short rows and I must started and restarted about ten times. Here's a pic of my progress....

Koigu Ankle Socks.

These really knit up fast because they're on size 3 needles (once I got the short row technique down that is). I have to work at 9 am tomorrow, and I'm really hoping I feel better because I can't afford to take off more time from work. Man, the Braves are losing!! Argh! :) Write more later!

So Sick....

I have been so sick the past few days. My throat is killing me, and I'm so tired. There's so much I wanted to do my first real week of part time. But really all I've been able to do is lay around. I did knit a little bit...

Cutaway Cardi by Chicknits.

I started on the sleeve... I couldn't resist not using this yarn (RYC
Cashsoft DK) any longer! It's definitely soft, and so yummy to work with. I think it will definitely be one of my new favorite yarns. Well, I've got to get Jake, he's yelling for mommy! Write more later!

I finished my Sockapal-two-za socks!

Just in time! They are supposed to go out next week, and I got them finished yesterday. They still need a bath because the dog got a hold of one of them (oops), and I've tried them on a few times to make sure they fit. I definitely want to make a pair for myself. I love the pattern! Here's a pic of the finished product....

Broadripple Koigu Socks finished!

I bought two skeins of Koigu for them, but they ended up only taking two. The weird thing is I used more than one for the first one, but used less than one for the 2nd, and they are the same size. Oh well, at least I know I'll only need two skeins if I do decide to make another. I took a picture of them on my feet, but I couldn't get my camera to upload them. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow! Well, I'd better get going.. have to wake up at 4:30 am. Fun, fun!

Went to my old hang out....

The Mall. Everywhere I go around here brings back old memories. I met my husband here when I was in 8th grade, just 14 years old. We started dating at the beginning of 10th grade when I was 15. And the rest is history! LOL! :) Well, I went to Borders and got Wrap Style, the new Crochet magazine by interweave, and the newest Simply Knitting. I can't wait to go through them all! I forgot to show off some yarn I got from Knit Happens. I got some RYC Cashsoft in Donkey to make Chicknits new Cutaway Cardi. Here are some pics...

My Knit Happens Bag.

Cashsoft - yum!

Koigu in a great colorway that I couldn't resist!

Well, not much else happening at the moment. I have been watching the coverage of the hurricane damage. Words can't even express what I feel for the people that have been affected. I plan to donate very soon, and you can donate here and win some great prizes donated by some very generous knitters! Click below...

In Florida

I'm in Florida for my friends wedding. I flew down yesterday, and my sister-in-law picked me up. I have been knitting non-stop since I've been here. I usually have to stop several times to break up fights, get juice, etc.. Well, my brothers crazy alarm just went off... so I'll finish this later! I did finish a sock, now I just have to finish my sockpal2za sock!! Write more later!!
