Another New Start...

Yes, I seem to have startitis.  It started back in May and hasn't let up.  I'm blaming it on the stress - it makes me do crazy things! :)  Anyway,  I ended up starting the main sampler in the Blackbird Designs Sarah's House leaflet, which is also named "Sarah's House" a few days ago.  I also ended up going with the silks.  I just couldn't resist them.  I had all of them except for one and I picked that up at my LNS (Silk Road Needle Arts) near my mom's house.

I was so happy when that border matched! :)  Just a couple more weeks and we'll be headed back to South Carolina.  I'm so sad to be leaving Florida, but happy to get the kids back to their schools and their routines.

New Start

I ordered "Ann Priest 1841" from Tanya (The Scarlett House) and I received it the other day.  I couldn't resist starting it right away!

I love how the Gentle Art threads are looking on the Vintage Pecan Butter, which I got from Down Sunshine Lane.  It's definitely one of my favorite linen colors.

Sweet Suprise!

I received a surprise package in the mail the other day!

Surprise package!!

Inside was this adorable pin cushion and sweet note from Charlene.  She said in the note that she thought I might need a little cheering up because we didn't get to stay in Florida.

I was blown away by her thoughtfulness and kindness.  I'm truly blessed to have such nice friends up in the Carolina's and I'm really looking forward to being near them again.

Thank you again Charlene!! I love it and I'm so happy to be your Sister Stitcher! :)

A Little More Mary Roe

We just got back from South Carolina on Monday.  We went up there to find a place to rent and I think we found one.  We'll move back in about a month before school starts.  I worked on Mary Roe a lot in the car on the way up.

I just love this funky lady!

Close up

I'm almost halfway done now.  I just need to do couple more motifs and then the flower vine and verse.  I made one little change - I ended up using Vanilla Pudding instead of Tumbleweed.  My Tumbleweed dye-lot was a little too dark and gray.

Happy 4th!

Hope you all have a very happy and safe 4th of July!  We'll be grilling turkey burgers, swimming in the pool and maybe seeing some fireworks around here tonight.  I hope to work on Mary Roe a little later too...
