Framing!!

I went to A.C. Moore and Michael's today to get some framing supplies. I found some unfinished frames at A.C. Moore and went to Michael's for foam core because Michael's will cut it for you. So here is what I framed, and I warn you they're no where near perfect, but they're good enough for now! :)

Miss Lila's Frame was unfinished and I painted it a dark brown.

Since I finished CaHRH yesterday I decided to start something new. Thank you all for your very kind comments on my finish!! They mean so much to me!

It's Shakespeare's Peddler's "Sarah Woodham 1770." I have been wanting to start it for a long time now, but I made myself wait until I finished CaHRH. I'm using the recommended silks on 40 ct. Vintage Pearled Barley. I'm loving it so far!! I love the colors!

Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow is Finished!!

I just put the last stitch in this morning! I'm so happy to have it finished. I also can't believe I have finished it! Here are some (not so great) pics....

Fun Saturday!

I went up to Amy's yesterday. We went to the mall and out to eat at Logan's Roadhouse. I could eat a million of their rolls, but I restrained myself - I only ate two. :)

Amy finished the tote she was going to make for me using the Moda Glace fabrics I bought at the quilt shop in Sumter a couple weeks ago. I couldn't believe how fast she finished it! It turned out beautiful!! I'm so happy with it. She also made me a little zip bag and it turned out so sweet! I love them both!

Amy has a couple more totes she's going to be selling (in different colorways, but just as cute). Contact her for more info.

I also couldn't resist getting a Q-Snap cover made by Amy in a very similar colorway. In the Q-Snaps is Long Dog Samplers "The Token." A sampler I decided to sample a couple weeks ago. :)

I worked on block #1 of CaHRH on Friday and a little bit yesterday. I got the peacock's body done. That was easy... it's all the feathers with the tons of color changes that's driving me nuts!

I hope to work on it a little more today - in between laundry, dishes and all that other fun stuff! Write soon!

Ten Down, Two to Go!

I got block two finished up last night...

I'm so happy to have this block finished! I'm going to work on block four now and unfortunately it's another huge house with a lot of stitching, but after I finish it then I'll go on to block one. The last block and it doesn't have as much stitching. I can see the end now - it's not too far away!! Write soon. :)

Block Two Progress

Here's my latest progress on Block 2 of CaHRH (Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow, for those who are wondering what the heck I'm talking about). :)

I'm really hoping to get this block finished up soon.  There's a lot of stitching in it, so it seems to be taking forever!  Well, nothing else going on here.... Just hanging out with the kids.  Write soon!

CaHRH Progress

I finished up Block Five earlier this week and got started on Block Two right away. I'm getting so excited because I have just about two and a half blocks to go now!

You'll have to excuse the wrinkles. I didn't iron today. I got the frame from Shakespeare's Peddler during the week also. I haven't taken it out of the box though. I'm going to wait until I get CaHRH finished. That is my motivation to get it done!! When I ordered the frame I couldn't resist getting a couple things. The first is Theresa's 1st Make-Do kit. I thought it was so sweet!

I also got her kit of the month (for January). It's Little by Little "Brick House Sampler."

I love the colors in this design. I think they're so pretty!

Well, I didn't make it to Amy's last week because I caught a cold. So I plan to go tomorrow instead (now that I'm feeling better). I can't wait - I really need to get away! :) Write soon!

Works in Progress

Wow, another post so soon! I got my car project (Jenny Bean's Christmas Sampler) out of the car today so I could take a picture of my progress...

40 ct. Maple Sugar, recommended GAST (1 over 2).

I work on this when I'm waiting for my kids to get out school. It's a great car project. Hopefully it won't take me too much longer to finish. :)

I also got a start on CaHRH Block 5 yesterday. I'm loving this block so far!

To steal Glenna's line again... I decided to "sample another sampler." This one is The Drawn Thread's "Toccata Number Five." It's a pattern darning sampler. I got a few motifs stitched. It's a little time consuming, so I've been stitching a little on CaHRH and then I do motif and then stitch a little more on CaHRH. It's a lot of fun, even if it does seem to take me forever!

CaHRH Block Three Finished!

I got block three finished up last night.  I can't believe I only have four more blocks to go!

I'm going to get started on block five today.  I ordered the frame from Shakespeare's Peddler yesterday, so I have no excuse not to get this framed when it's done.  It won't be going in the Rubbermaid bin!!  :)

A Gift and Progress

I received a surprise in the mail the other day.  I had loaned a chart to Berit and she included this adorable fob when she sent it back to me.

She made a small cube with different motifs from the chart I loaned her and our initials.  I just love it!!  Thank you again Berit!

I have been working on CaHRH quite a bit since my last post.  I decided to to go up to block three.

I also started Ann Grimshaw today for my first Quaker Friday.

I hate to say it, but I'm not quite happy with the silk.  It seems to be a little too thick for the linen.  I may just end up going with DMC, or maybe I'll try a different silk??  I don't know - I hate it when I get wishy-washy!  :)

Edited to add: I decided to go with Vikki Clayton Basic Black silk.  I think it's going to be perfect! :)
