A Couple More Finishes

I made "Christmas is Forever" into a flatfold Friday night. I used Vonna's Tutorial, the instructions were very easy! Thank you Vonna! Don't look too close though because it's slightly crooked. It just didn't want to be straight. I gave up. :)

I also finished up my Flip-it Banner finally! It only took just under two years! I'm so glad it's done. I'm thinking of donating it to my son's kindergarten class because they are learning the months of the year. I would have to make it into a wall hanging of some sort though. That would require sewing - yikes! Maybe I'll think about this for a little bit. :)

I got "Peppermint Lane" out this morning and got back to stitching it. I'm not getting too much done right now though. Dh went golfing, so it's me and the kids and the laundry! After I finish PL, I would like to stitch up Paulette's pretty freebie she posted on her blog. I pulled the threads and fabric for it yesterday...

Well, that's all for now. I've got to get back to the laundry! Write soon! :)

P.S. Thank you all for your kind comments on my framing. I pin mount when I frame my pieces (here is an article by Theresa Vinette - Scroll down "To Stretch" that is exactly how I frame). The lace on the distressed frame came like that. It's an old one from Hog River.

Christmas is Forever Finished!

I finally got this one finished up today. It seemed to take me forever! I was also off by a stitch and kept ripping and fixing and finally I just fudged it!

Hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving. We had a nice day. After I cooked dinner and we ate I crawled in my bed a fell asleep for an hour or so. It was bliss! I then took the older boys to see Bolt. It was a very cute movie. Well, I'm going to eat some leftovers now! Write later! :)

Christmas is Forever

I stayed up way too late last night stitching Lizzie Kate's "Christmas is Forever." I'm loving this one! I love the colors - they are so bright and pretty!

Christmas is Forever

I had some leftover bananas so I thought I would make some banana muffins today. I got the recipe from my mom and they are so good!

My Mom's Banana Muffins

Here's the recipe...

Preheat oven to 425, spray muffin pan with cooking spray.

Wet Ingredients
3 ripe bananas mashed
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 - 1 tsp vanilla (optional)

Dry Ingredients
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 - 1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

mix wet ingredients in one bowl and dry in another. Make a well in dry ingredients, dump wet into the well. Mix well. Bake for 15 min - until top is firm. I sprinkled some walnuts on top of a few of them for me (my kids don't like nuts).

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow. We are staying home having a very small dinner. Actually I haven't even gone shopping yet (that's pretty sad). Write later!

Feeling Much Better!!

Wow, what a difference a day can make. I can type! And maybe later I'll attempt stitching! My finger is still numb from the shot they gave me, but the pain virtually gone. I took some pictures of the stitching I had been working on before this happened...

In a Slight Slump....

I haven't been able to stitch lately for some reason. I'm feeling restless. I don't know if it's because my dad and his wife are coming or what? I've been cleaning and trying to have everything look nice for them. We also got new living room furniture on Wednesday, so that has occupied my time some. We got a black leather couch, love seat and tables from Rooms to Go. Normally, I wouldn't chose black leather, but dh likes it and I was thinking it would be practical with three boys. I got some pillows and lamps to warm it up some. Here's a pic...

New Living Room

It's not the greatest pic, but I think you get the idea. :) As far as stitching I have been fleeting from one thing to the next. Trying to settle on something. I stitched a little bit more on my Stacy Nash pillow..

Early Style Alphabet Pinkeep Pillow

And I decided to start Lizzie Kate's "Christmas is Forever" kit. I just got a little bit stitched on that yesterday...

And today while looking through Andrea's albums I came across her "With my Needle" by The Goode Huswife and fell in love! I realized I have that pattern after doing a search. So I pulled the DMC. I can't decide whether to use 32 ct. linen or 40. I should probably go with the 32 since I can only stand stitching on 40 ct. for so long! Here's a pic of the threads on 40 ct. Light Examplar...

Well, my dad just called and he's on his way! Write later (hopefully with some stitching progress to share)!
