Framing!!

I went to A.C. Moore and Michael's today to get some framing supplies. I found some unfinished frames at A.C. Moore and went to Michael's for foam core because Michael's will cut it for you. So here is what I framed, and I warn you they're no where near perfect, but they're good enough for now! :)

Miss Lila's Frame was unfinished and I painted it a dark brown.

This frame was unfinished and I painted with a black paint called "Wrought Iron"

Since I finished CaHRH yesterday I decided to start something new. Thank you all for your very kind comments on my finish!! They mean so much to me!

It's Shakespeare's Peddler's "Sarah Woodham 1770." I have been wanting to start it for a long time now, but I made myself wait until I finished CaHRH. I'm using the recommended silks on 40 ct. Vintage Pearled Barley. I'm loving it so far!! I love the colors!

Miss Lila's House Finished!

I got her finished up today! I'm so glad it's done! I'm glad I didn't set her aside to start something else.

Stitching!

I finally got some stitching done. I'm very close to being finished with Miss Lila's House.

Miss Lila

I have been working on Miss Lila's House for the past couple of days. I got the bottom part finished up this morning. I would love to get this one finished soon!

Nothing really going on here. Just hanging out with the kids. Dh is off fishing and golfing with friends this weekend. I hope to get lots of stitching done! :)

Third Time's a Charm??

Welcome to the loony bin once again! I was going through my linen and getting it organized and came across my old Ruth Bacheler wip. I couldn't stop looking at it and I realized I really liked it. I was seriously thinking of picking it back up and working on it again. But wait, I started it over, on silk. Shouldn't I be happy with that?? I should, but of course - fickle me, I'm not. I really like Anne's finish over at Tempus Fugit. I love the colors on her sampler. I don't know why they are so different than mine - dye lots, lighting? Who knows, but I knew I liked it. Well, Katrina also liked Anne's sampler and she came up with a conversion of her own by looking at the colors Anne used. I once again borrowed Katrina's conversion (she so nice to share). She has a great eye for color! So I ripped some colors from my old sampler last night and put in the new colors today. I'm very happy with how it's turning out.

I also worked on Miss Lila's House, which is my sane project. I have not had any problems with this one at all. :)

More Lila

I worked on Miss Lila's House last night while watching The History Channel. That's one fascinating channel! Did you know that the Island of Molokai was actually a much bigger island and half of it broke away? That is why there are huge sea cliffs on one side of the island. I had no idea and I lived in Hawaii for over two years! Anyway, here is my progress pic....

Weekend Stitching

I started "Miss Lila's House" Friday night. I decided to go with R&R 40 ct. Ink Spot Black. I'm loving it so far! I stitched this while listening to "The Lace Reader." It was a really good book! I highly recommend it!

Saturday and Sunday I worked on "Ruth Bacheler." I finished the first two alphabet rows. The second row is satin stitches over three threads. I had to rip out a couple of letters trying to figure out how to get it right. It's still not exactly right, but I didn't want to rip anymore. I'm hoping my 2nd border will match up on the other end!

I plan on finishing up the second border (hoping it matches) and then maybe I'll work on "Miss Lila's House" again today after running a few errands! Write later! :)

Four Down, Eight to Go!

I finished House #4 on HoHRH last night. I finished it 12 minutes after midnight, so I just missed my deadline of finishing it by April 30th. :)

36 ct. Pearled Barley, DMC (2 over 2)

I really want to start something new. I was thinking about one of the new Plum Street Sampler designs or this one by Carriage House Samplings...

I'm trying to decide if I want to stitch it on 35 ct. WDW Onyx, or on 40 ct. Sienna Night (like Karin is using). I'll probably work on my stocking while I decide. :) Write later!
