My Needle's Work Finished!

I got it finished up today. I should have been working, but instead I was stitching. Please don't tell. :)

Stitching and Stashing

I stitched on "My Needle's Work" a little more last night. I'm hoping to maybe get it finished up today. I finished listening to "The Other Boleyn Girl." It was so good and I really can't wait to see the movie now. I just started listening to "The Boleyn Inheritance." It's pretty good so far. It picks up almost where the other one leaves off.

When I was in Ocala I stopped at Brick City Cross Stitch and picked up a couple of LHN patterns that I didn't have.

I also had some fabric waiting for me when I got back. I got a fat 1/8 of Silvery Moon Cashel for Just Nan's "Memories." I pulled the DMC threads to see how they would look on it.

Carol is inspiring me to start this! Her wip is so pretty! :) Well, Matthew is fussing! Write later! :)

P.S. Many people have asked about my thread drops. I get them at my LNS (Silk Road Needlearts). I have also found them at Elegant Stitch. That is where I got my first set. I love them! No more winding on bobbins or dealing with baggies. Or you could make your own like Wawanna and Debby did. :)

I'm Back!

We had a very nice trip up north. I beat the bad weather and checked into our room just in time before the downpour started. I was able to stitch a little bit this weekend...

I'm still loving it and I'm hoping to work on it a little more today! Write later! :)

My Needle's Work

Well, I was bad yesterday and started another new project. I couldn't help myself. It was calling to me. The linen, the threads, the design. They were all calling my name...

I worked on it until late last night. I'm loving it. Sometimes I wonder why I bother starting or stitching any designs other than LHN or CCN? I love them the most, I finish them the most. I guess I figure I need variety, but then it's always them that I'm drawn to. Ah well, what can I do?? :)

I'm going away to Ocala today for the weekend. It's my dh's grandfather's 90th birthday. They are having a big party for him. It will be so good to see him. It's been too long. I can't wait to get away too. I've been so stressed lately. Hopefully this will be a nice break. Dh is going to meet me and the kids tonight. It will be so good to see him too. It's been a couple weeks since we've seen each other. I'll be so glad when we're together for good. Only three months now. I can't wait!!! :)

Taking Pictures

Kim asked the trick to taking good pictures. I think I the main thing is natural light. It makes a world of difference. For example...

My Needle's Work

The two pictures above were taken today in natural light. The two from the previous post were taken at night under my Ott-Lite. There's a huge differnce! I was also very fortunate that my dh got me a nice camera for Christmas. It's a Nikon D40. It's big and slightly bulky, but I love it. And I still need to learn a ton about. I also set the ISO to 1600, which really makes the stitching stand out. Don't ask me what ISO means, I just know it's an option. I'll have to look into that a little more. :) Like I said I really don't know much, but I do know natural lighting makes all the difference! I'd love to take a class one day. Well, I'm watching all the kids, so I'd better go! Write later!

And a Little More Garden Girl

I couldn't resist stitching on it a little more yesterday and today. I'm already ignoring my rotation and it's only been a few days! :) I'm hopeless!

I also got "My Needle's Work" in the mail today. I can tell this is going to be one of my next starts! I love it! :)

I'm so excited because I was able to sign up with Net Library today. I had to go to a library in my county, which wasn't too close, to sign up. I'm so glad I made the trip because it's so worth it! They have a ton of books I want to listen to. I just downloaded "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. After I listen to it I'd love to see the movie. It looks so good. I think just the costumes alone would make it worth seeing. Write later! :)
