Myrtle Beach

I just got back from a great weekend at the Cross Stitch Pals retreat in Myrtle Beach.  I believe this was my forth time attending at it was so much fun!  It was so good to see everyone again.  It was cloudy and rainy, but it didn't matter - it was perfect stitching weather!

I didn't get many pictures at all. I was too busy stitching, talking, and laughing! I did get a picture of a finish I had while there...

Myrtle Beach

I had so much fun in Myrtle Beach!  The time went by way too fast.  It was so great to see my old friends and meet new ones.  The weather was gorgeous pretty much the whole time I was there...

View from Tanya's Room

Only, I didn't get down to the beach much.  I was too busy chatting and stitching.  I worked on Charlotte Clayton a little bit...

And I worked on a very sweet freebie that Tanya (The Scarlett House) designed for us.

I also picked up Christmastide from Tanya's booth (which I'm sad to say I don't have any pictures of) and this sweet little needlework set.

Amy, once again put together a wonderful retreat and I can't wait for next year.  I'll leave you with a picture of the goodies from our registration pack.  It was chock full of great things!  If you're reading this Amy, thanks again for all you do!  I only wish I had gotten more pictures (all that talking and stitching got in the way)! :)

Couple More Pictures

Here is the group picture from Pals (I'm in the bottom left corner).

And here is a picture of a shaker tray I got. I just couldn't resist it! Now I have a place for all of Tanya's beautiful hand-painted accessories. Amy told me she has one more left and will be getting more.

I started Jenny Bean's Halloween Sampler last night. I meant to take it with me to Myrtle Beach, but forgot it. I know I won't finish by Halloween, but I've been wanting to stitch it for so long that I decided to start it anyway. I'll take a picture of my progress tomorrow.

I'm Home!

Well, I actually got home yesterday around 12:30 pm. I was going to stay later and do some stuff around Myrtle Beach, but decided to get home to babies instead! :) They were all happy to see me and I was so happy to see them. Distance (even for a couple days) definitely makes the heart grow fonder. :)

My dh is such a sweetie - he had the house all clean and the dishes done, so all I had to do was get lunches ready for the coming week.

Anyway, I promised to share pics of my exchange pieces. Here is what I gave...

I had stitched it awhile ago, but never got around to finishing it, so I decided to finish it for the gift exchange. I only took it apart three times - I just could not get it right - it's still not perfect, but oh well. Michele ended up getting it in the end (she traded with someone to get it). :)

I actually got Michele's pin cushion in the end, but someone asked me to trade (she really wanted it, so I reluctantly said yes), but it wasn't a bad deal because I ended up getting Karen's sweet little Shepherd's Bush pin cushion.

And speaking of Michele and Karen they gave me a surprise package when I arrived! In it was a very nice card and this adorable pin cushion made by Michele and scissor fob made by Karen (attached to my Premax scissors). Thank you both so much!! It really made my day!

Well, I still can't believe how fast the weekend went and now it's. Back to reality and back to cleaning and doing laundry (Matthew decided to destroy the house today - it's amazing how fast he can do that). Write soon!!

Myrtle Beach Day 2

I can't believe the day is over already!! I can't believe I have to go home tomorrow (today actually, it's almost 1 am). Today was so much fun. After a very good lunch at P.F. changs - I went to the conference center to stitch a bit. Here is the beautiful view from the conference center....

It made it very difficult to concentrate on my stitching! And here is the view outside - there is a fishing pier attached to the hotel (my dh would have loved that - too bad he had to stay home with the boys)...

I worked on Shores a little bit today. I'm so ready to be done with this block!

And I realized I didn't have any pictures of people, so I took a few and then my iPhone started to die. I really should have charged it longer today. Here is the gang I hung out with today...

Karen, me, Yvonne, and Faye

We had so much fun. Lots of stitching and lots of laughing. I'll never forget the memories made on this trip. I have a feeling they're going to post some pretty embarrassing pictures of me. I can be a goofball. :)

Here's a picture of my dinner buddies. We went to Five Guys. When I heard where they were going I begged to come along - I even drove!! :)

Sorry for the blurry picture! Michele WA and Karen AZ are in front and Chris NC is next to Michele.

Well, like I said it was so much fun and I really can't believe it's over. Amy really outdid herself putting it all together. I can't believe I didn't get more pictures and none of Amy (she was very busy). I'm hoping I can come for a longer time next year. I'll take more pictures tomorrow of my stitched exchange (given and received) and of a very sweet gift I received from Michele and Karen. Write soon! :)

P.S. I'm going to fix the pictures from day one's post.

Myrtle Beach Day 1

I got to Myrtle Beach around 6 pm. This is the view I saw when I got to my room.

After I grabbed a bite to eat I went to the conference center. I got my registration pack. I actually already knew what was in it because I helped Amy put them together. :)

We had our gift exchange first. I ended up with a huge box full of goodies!! The box is very cool - it looks like a huge book.

After the gift exchange was the ornament exchange. I got three very sweet ornaments!

It was such a fun night.

I woke up to this beautiful view...

For today I plan on stitching the day away and then later on tonight is the stitched exchange and games. Write soon with more pics!! :)

I'm Back!

Wow, I had so much fun at the Pals Fall Fling in Myrtle Beach. It went by so fast!! It felt like I got there and then in a blink of an eye I was headed home. The class was wonderful. If you ever get a chance to take a class with Jane Timmers I highly recommend it! I finished my class piece and that was the first time I ever finished a class piece! Her instructions were so clear and so easy!

My Class Piece Finished!!

I definitely would like to go again next year! For more pictures click here! Write soon!

A Little More Neighborhood...

Little House Neighborhood as of 7/12/08

I'm really enjoying it! I did work on Joyful Summer a little bit and then I realized I was going to run out of the darker green "Bean Sprout." I thought I would have enough, but I guess not. So I'm going to take the thread to my somewhat LNS and see if I can match it up!

I also have some news! I'm going to the Pals retreat in October! I'm so excited! :) I'm going to be taking Jane Timmer's class - Madeira Tin Project.

It should be a blast! Well, not much else going on! Going to get back to stitching! Write later! :)
