Knitting and Stitching

I finished up my BFF socks last night! I'm so happy to finally have them done. It only took 2 1/2 years! :)

BFF Socks by Cookie A.
Yarn: Araucania Ranco Multy - Color #312
Needles: Size 2 dpns

I also started another pair of toe-up 2-at-a-time socks. I had to order a couple of 40" circular needles from Knit Picks, so I'm using different yarn this time. I like how they're turning out (even though it looks a little like a bra right now). :)

I also got Paradise Lost out last week. I would love to finish it up soon. Here's my latest progress pic...

One last little thing that I also got from Knit Picks is this Namaste Buddy Case. I think it's just perfect for holding all my stitching accessories.

Miserable Week!

I caught a cold and I've been miserable. I'm finally getting over it, thankfully! That spring cleaning I was talking about doing... Yeah, it didn't happen (except for a few charts I sold - thank you to those who bought them)! I go down to Florida April 1st and I was hoping to get a lot done before then. Maybe I still can, if I can find the motivation!

Anyway, I did do a little bit of stitching on Paradise Lost...

Paradise Lost as of 3/18/10

I finished the angel, sun, and crown on the right side of the banner and started on the clouds above the banner.

I also decided to start something new..

BBD Summer Iris

It's Summer Iris by Blackbird Designs. I'm stitching it on 34 ct. Legacy Linen (Cafe Au Lait) using the recommended WDW and GAST threads (2 over 2).

Well, I'd better get dinner started! Write soon! :)

Back from Amy's!

I went up to Amy's bright and early this morning. Matthew took to Ray and Amy right away. He had so much fun with Ray. He showed him how to play one of his guitars (Jake was very jealous when I told him this). After a little jam session we went to eat a McCabe's. A very good BBQ restaurant in Manning. We came home and had a little cake (I brought a cake from Publix - they're sooo good). I was so stuffed from McCabe's though, so I couldn't eat very much. I'm wishing I had taken some home now, I have a feeling I'll be thinking of that cake later on tonight! :)

Of course I couldn't leave without the new (re-released) pattern from Samplers Remembered "Mary Allen 1818," and a couple other little goodies from Kelmscott.

Mary Allen and a couple Kelmscot goodies

I fell in love with this pattern after seeing Siobhan's sampler. It's so pretty!!

When I came home there was an email saying that Jake's game was canceled tomorrow because the field conditions were bad. So I could have gone to Amy's tomorrow after all. Oh well, we still had fun today. :)

As promised here is my progress on SoHRH (Shores of Hawk Run Hollow). It's not a lot of progress - I hope to stitch more on it this weekend.

And here's my little progress on Paradise Lost. I finished the fill in on the banner.

Well, I just ordered pizza for everyone, although I'm still stuffed from lunch. I'm sure I'll find a way to eat a slice though! Write soon!

More Paradise Lost

I finished the banner today (except for the fill in). I also got the giraffe and the little animal (a fox?) finished. I had to frog a few times though. I don't know what's wrong with me lately! It seems I'm frogging all the time!

Well, my boys just got home from school (half day today) and they're hungry! Write soon!

Samplers!

I worked on Sarah Woodham a little bit on Tuesday...

Sarah Woodham
40 ct. Vintage Pearled Barley, Various silks (1 over 2).

And then Wednesday I saw Glenna's pictures of the Carriage House Samplings trunk show at In Stitches. And I decided to start something I've been wanting to start for a long time. Or actually restart because I started it a couple years ago, but then decided not to stitch it. The project is Shores of Hawk Run Hollow. I was Hawk Run Hollowed out for approximately a week and then it was time to stitch another one!

40 ct. Summer Khaki, over-dyed with Tan Rit Dye, NPI silks (1 over 2).

After working on SoHRH a little bit I decided to get Paradise Lost back out. I really want to get it finished up, so I'm going to try to concentrate on it for awhile before getting back to my other bigger samplers.

Thank you all for your kind comments on my Anniversaries of the Heart project. I will be getting back to it also. I would love to finish up the first two houses before 3rd comes out (possibly at the end of the month??). Write soon!

PL Progress and a New Start!

Paradise Lost as of 10/31/09

Paradise Lost

I got the funky red and green bird stitched along with some leaves and pears on the middle tree.  Oh, and the teeny, tiny bird on the leaf.  It's over one.  I was going to do a full stitch, but it wasn't looking right, so I decided to just do a half stitch.

For my birthday, which is today, I decided to start "Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow."  I'm loving it already and I only have three sides of a border stitched.  I'm using NPI silks and 40 ct. Vintage Examplar.

Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow start

I also got a little bit of stash in the mail yesterday for my birthday.  I got some 40 ct. Days Gone By and "Not Forgotten Sampler" by Chessie and Me.  The chart calls for Gentle Arts Simply Wool on 32 ct., but I thought I would just go with regular Sampler Threads on 40 ct.

Not Forgetten Sampler

Well, after I do a little laundry, I plan to stitch the day away! Write later!

Paradise Lost Progress

The kids had a four day weekend, so we went down to Florida for a quick trip.  I worked on Paradise Lost a little bit while down there.  I was very glad to get the big tree on the right finished.

I'll probably work on the big tree in the middle now.  Well, I'd better get back to my mountain of laundry!  I cleaned before I left, but of course it's a disaster again.  How does it happen so fast? :)  Write soon!

More Paradise Lost

I'm addicted to this design. I can't stop stitching! My house is in shambles and I ordered pizza today, so I wouldn't have to cook! I finally started the laundry tonight (I was planning on doing it first thing this morning).

Paradise Lost as of 10/7/09

I just love Paulette's version of Adam & Eve....

Elvis and Pricsilla

Aren't they cute? Eve sort of reminds me of Priscilla Presley. So I decided to change their names to Elvis and Priscilla. :)

Well, the dryer just buzzed. I'd Better get folding! Write soon!

Lion and Lioness

I finished up the lion (he finally got his head) and his mate yesterday. I'm having so much fun with this design. I think it's going to be pretty much impossible to get bored with it. There's so much fun stuff going on! :)

Paradise Lost as of 10/5/09

I got a small start on the blue peacock last night, so I'll be working on him today. Write soon!

Market Stash!!

I went to Amy's to stitch yesterday. Well, I meant to go to Amy's to stitch, but I didn't get any stitching done. Dh called when I was almost there and told me he didn't have his house keys. So I stayed for a little bit. I ate some pizza and bought some new stash! It's my early birthday present to myself! :)
