A Finish and a Get Together

I finished up Karen's Prairie Schooler block yesterday. It only took about nine months to finish!!

I had such a fun time in Manning on Saturday. It was great to see everyone again! I only took a few pics near the end.

I didn't get Karen, but I did get a shot of her stitching (Tree of Life by Goode Huswife)

My stitching buddies for the day, Donna and Judy, they are going to Victoria, British Columbia for the last Victoria Sampler retreat!

I'll definitely have to remember to take more pictures next time! Now, I need to get started on Amy or Faye's square. I need to keep going, so it doesn't take nine more months (I don't think they'd appreciate that too much)! :) Write soon!

Long Time No Post!

Sorry I've been MIA! I wasn't feeling too well last week. I caught some kind of virus that made me so tired. I'm finally getting over it, but still coughing a little. Now Matthew has gotten it. He was up in the middle of night coughing like crazy, the poor guy (and poor me because he kept me up)! LOL! :)

I did get some stitching done...

I worked on Shores a lot last week. I got the big whale stitched in block 11 and then I worked on the water around the whale.

I also got Simple Joys back out. It's coming along, slowly, but surely. Amy finished her sampler last week. I saw it in person on Saturday - It looks great!

Simple Joys as of 6/8/10

Speaking of Amy, while I was there we decided to do a round robin with Karen and Faye. Only instead of stitching it on one piece of fabric we are going to use individual pieces - sort of like our own Fair and Square exchange. We are going to be using designs from The Prairie Schooler Patterns "Friends" and "More Friends." Amy, Faye and Karen chose 32 ct. Vintage Buttercream for their fabric and I chose 32 ct. Vintage Light Examplar for mine.

It should be a fun project and it will be nice to have a stitched piece from each of them.

Well, the kids are out of school now. Bradley's birthday is tomorrow - he's going to be 10! I just can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms. We're planning on going to Florida soon. They are going to be spending time with my mom while I come back here and relax. I'm sure I won't know what to do with myself!! :) Write soon - hopefully with a finish!
