A New Start

I was feeling like I was getting ready to fall into a slump and the only way I know to avoid a slump is to start something new. So I did!

I decided to start "Elizabeth Sheffield" by The Scarlet Letter. I splurged on the kit from The Attic several months ago, but I had just been admiring the threads, instead of using them. Well, the other day I started using them! :)  I actually decided to use 32 ct. instead of 40 ct. because of all the over one in the sampler.

I also worked on Rubie Owl's Sampler a little bit...

And I picked up an old UFO from last year.  I'd like to get it finished before Halloween...

It's Jenny Bean's Halloween Sampler.  I really don't have too much to go on it.

Well, I just booked my room for the Pals convention in Myrtle Beach in a little over two weeks.  I'm so excited to get away and stitch.  It's going to be a blast! :)

Rubie Owl

I finished up the model I was working on the other day and decided to do a little fall stitching. I got back out "Rubie Owl's Sampler." This was where I left off last year...

Rubie Owl - more filling in!

And this is where I'm at now...

I had so much fun stitching Rubie and her dog. They're just so cute!

Christmas Rules Start

Here is my promised picture of Christmas Rules. I worked on it quite a bit yesterday - I finished the top freebie border and got a small start on the first block - "Be Kind."

I also got a small start on the fourth AotH block...

Small start on Block #4 - A Wish For You

I'm not sure how I'm going to personalize this one. I think I may put my nephew Harrison's name in there (he was born on 3/16). But that makes me wonder if I should now put my niece's name in the February block since she was born on 2/3 and then maybe stitch one of the samplers from the Honeysuckle Manor book for my great-grandma. Maybe I should have waited until the end to personalize!! :)

And I worked on some more filling in on Rubie Owl's Sampler...

Last, but not least... On December 4th, there will be a stitching get together in Manning, SC. It will be at The French Hens restaurant again. It was so much fun the last time we went in August. The food was wonderful, the lighting great (for stitching) and of course the company was awesome!! Come out and join us if you can - there's more info on Amy's blog.

Well, I think I'm going to try to finish getting that green filled in on Rubie today. I really want to get working on the top half of the design. Write soon!!

Oops!

As I was stitching away on Rubie Owl yesterday, I realized I messed up the border around the green box. I forgot to leave room for the leaves! So I ripped it out and put in the leaves, that way I wouldn't mess up again when I went to fill in the green.

I ended up changing the Red Fox to Poison Apple because my Red Fox is just too light and pinky.

Well, I really need to clean today. I've been neglecting the house in favor of stitching (what's new??). Write soon! :)

I Decided to Start.....

Two things! A few people told me I should start everything, which was very tempting!! I started out with "Quaker Diamonds." There are ton of color changes, but I'm loving how it's turning out. I got the stranded Valdani instead of the spools because I knew I wanted to stitch it on 40 ct.

After stitching on "Quaker Diamonds" for a couple hours I decided I would start "Rubie Owl's Sampler." I have loved this design for so long. Once I started stitching I really fell in love!

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes yesterday, they really made my day!! My dh brought home a cake from Publix. I just mentioned I would love a chocolate cake with whipped topping and he ordered it for me on Saturday when I was at Amy's. He even had them put in raspberry filling. It was soooo good!!! :)

Well, I think I'm going to back to Rubie! I do want to finish up Jenny Bean, so I'll probably get back to that too (maybe tomorrow - I'm enjoying Rubie too much right now)! :)

Write soon!
Edited to add: I had a couple people ask about my Picture this Plus linen - I can't remember where I got it from (it's been awhile), I know you can get it directly from them... http://www.picturethisplus.com/html/cross_stitch_fabric.html

New Start?

I was thinking since it's my birthday today - I might start something new. But what???

The first thing I was thinking of was Rubie Owl's Sampler. I have had this kitted since last year...

The next thing I was thinking of is "Quaker Diamonds." Check out Coni's beautiful finish if you haven't done so already!!

Another one I have loved since Tanya (Scarlett House) finished it last year is Plantation Sampler (I even asked for her conversion)!

And the last sampler I'm thinking of is "Where my Heart Blooms." I've had this one kitted forever too.

Hmm... Decisions, decisions! Well, even if I decide not start one today I still had fun playing in my stash! :) I have a lot to be thankful for today. My beautiful family, my health and my stash! :)

Plum Street Samplers!

I received Paulette's newest patterns from Amy at Down Sunshine Lane today. They are so sweet! I already had the fabric for them and most of the threads. Here's "Rubie Owl's Sampler" first. I just love the threads for this one! They are so pretty!

And this one is "Bird in the Bower." It's such a sweet design. I missing a few of the threads. I'll have to get them soon because I really love this one! :)

Lastly I got a few threads in the mail for Blackbird Designs "Birds of a Feather." I love Wakana's (scroll down) progress on this one and asked her if she minded if I copied her. She didn't mind thankfully! :)

I worked on Ruthie a little bit more today. I'm almost finished with the triangles on the left side.
