Sailing Home Finished!

I got Sailing Home finished today! I'm so glad it's done. Now I can get it framed and give it my brother and SIL for my nephew.

Earth Sampler Start

I started Earth Sampler yesterday and realized there were a couple errors. If I had read all of Karen's post I would have realized that sooner! I emailed Lisa, the designer of The Primitive Needle last night and she put the correction on her website. I'm having so much fun stitching this one! Here are a couple progress pics...

I also worked on my nephew's birth sampler a little bit last night. I found out my SIL is going to be induced Sunday, so I thought I'd better get working on it! :)

Titania Tuesday Update

I am almost finished with the right side of Titania. I got most of the regular stitching done. I just have a few stitches here and there that I need to fill in and then some backstitching. I'll leave the beading until last. I've only been working on her again for a little over a month now, so I think I'll definitely finish before September! I'm very happy about that. That is one positive about my rotation! I don't think I would have gotten as far as I have without it.

Well, now that obligation stitching is out of the way I'm going to stitch what I want for the rest of the day! :)

Sailing Home

I got Kind Fond Love out yesterday and I had no desire to work on it at all. I just stared at it for a few minutes and then put it away. I ended up starting the birth sampler for my nephew. It was just what I needed. Something easy on 30 ct. linen. I took a picture yesterday while it was still sunny. I have gotten a little more stitched since then. I finished the name and part of a flower.

I don't believe my brother or SIL reads my blog, so I think it's safe to put a picture up on here. I made it private in my album though. I'll post another pic later today. I'm almost out of the blue thread. I don't know what I was thinking only getting one skein. I just assumed they would put on the pattern if I needed more. Oh well, I ordered a couple more from Amy, which is where I got the first one, so they should be in the same dye lot.

Well, I'm feeling my rotation slip away from me a little. Or maybe it's just KFL. Or maybe I'm just tired from the time change. Can someone please remind me why we have daylight savings again? :)

Ruth Bacheler Start

I put a few stitches into The Scarlet Letter's "Ruth Bacheler 1717." Ok, more than a few, but I couldn't stop myself! :) The Irish Stitch triangles are very addictive! I had a little dilemma before I started though. I had ordered 36 ct. Pearled Barley from Elegant Stitch. I received the linen yesterday and realized it was Vintage. Not at all what I was wanting. It's a totally different color than regular PB. I found a large cut of 34 ct. Cafe au Lait by Legacy Linens in my stash. I decided to give it a try, but quickly decided that it was just too light. I then decided to dye it using Vonna's method again. I didn't use any tea this time. I just used some old coffee I had in the fridge. Anyway, I baked and basted it for about 15 min. I went to iron it dry and my old Singer Magic Press decided to die on me. I loved that thing. So I stuck it in the dryer and I'm actually happy that I did because my iron kept leaving residue on my fabric. It was time to get a new iron anyway. Anyway, here are some pics of the start and of how linen ended up turning out.

I also have a little progress to show on HoHRH. I should have been stitching this instead of Ruthie, but I couldn't resist starting something new. It's been awhile!

I'm very excited - I am going to become an aunt again in about 2 weeks! I can't wait to see that baby and hold him in my arms! My brother and sister-in-law have found out that it will be a boy and they have decided to name him Harrison Paul. I was thinking of stitching Blackbird Designs "Sailing Home" for him.

Well, that's all for now! Write soon! :)
