A little Behind!

I just finished two models for Plum Street Samplers, which is why I haven't been posting. After I finished the models I decided to get back to my May Word Play and I got it finished up last night. I'm going to get started on June next and then finally get caught up with July. :)

May Word Play
Camera Roll-5
40 ct. Vintage Pecan Butter, GAST threads (1 over 2)

I made it up to my somewhat LNS today to get some threads for various projects and the newest SANQ.

Now that I'm back I plan to sit and stitch until it's time to make dinner! :)

A Little More Margaret and New Start

I worked on Margaret a little bit yesterday...

40 ct. Fawn by LL, DMC threads (1 over 2).

I'm still loving it!

I also decided to start something new (having my own belated January challenge). :) I decided to start "Rose Quaker Sampler" by Wiehenburg. I was going to use NPI, but ended up going with DMC because I wanted to make sure I had enough and not have to worry about dye-lots.

Another goal for 2011 that I have set for myself is to stitch an ornament a month. I realized when putting my ornaments on the tree last year that I only had a couple stitched by me. So the first ornament I want to stitch is "Souvenir of Paris" by Blackbird Designs.

30 ct. St. Valentine's Blend by R&R, GAST and WDW threads.

It's all kitted up and ready to go! Can't wait to get started! I plan to use Vonna's Tutorial to do the finishing myself. Wish me luck! :)

Write soon!

Started on a Whim...

I was surfing stitching blogs last night and came across this beautiful sampler stitched by Anne of Tempus Fugit. It's Margaret Havelock 1836 from the Spring 2010 issue of Sampler and Antique Needlework.

I'm loving it! Somehow in just one day my house is completely destroyed again (it may have something to do with those three boys running around), so I'll be having a repeat of yesterday - getting everything clean, so I can relax and stitch. Am I the only one that needs a clean house to stitch?? :) Write soon!

I'm Home....

... For now! I got back from Florida on Tuesday. I ended up not leaving the kids down there by themselves. Although it would have been nice to have some free time, I realized it would have been a waste of money to drive back and forth. I didn't get very much stitching done at all. I worked on Shores Block 11 a little bit, but that was it...

Shores as of 7/8/10
40 ct. Summer Khaki (over-dyed w/tan rit dye), NPI silks.

I picked up the latest Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterlies at my Florida LNS (Silk Road Needle Arts). I really want to stitch the Isabella Johnstone Sampler in the Summer issue.

40 ct. Pearled Barley, Belle Soie silks.

Check out Tanya's finished Sampler here. It's just gorgeous!! Tanya is such an inspiration to me. She picks the most beautiful samplers to stitch!

Well, I'm only home for a few more days and then we're headed up to Michigan to visit my dad for a week. It's been a busy, but fun summer so far. The kids are having a blast visiting their grandparents. I'm excited about the prospect of cooler weather in Michigan. I'm so sick of the heat and humidity of FL and SC! :)
