Stitchy Day

I went up to Amy's yesterday to stitch. It was so much fun and I was so glad that Karen could join us. Of course I can never resist going through the Down Sunshine Lane room while there. :) I picked up a couple more market patterns (Amy just got these in - they were still in the box).

I also got a couple other patterns that I've had my eye on for awhile...

DSC_0004

We had such a nice time stitching, chatting and eating!! Have you ever tried Rolos melted on pretzels??? Well, you have to - it's such a decadent treat! So easy, and so good!

When I got home I had a few patterns waiting for me in the mail from Lisa.

DSC_0006

She always sends me the charts of the designs I have stitched for her. And it always gives me a little thrill to see my name on the back of the chart.

DSC_0009

She also included a bonus chart for me, which I was so excited about!! I just love this design!

DSC_0010

Thank you again Lisa!! :)

I have been working on the May (6th) block of Anniversaries of the Heart. I hope to have it finished today and then I'll share a pic tomorrow. Write soon!!

Sarah and Some Market Stash!

I worked on Sarah a lot yesterday!

DSC_0021

I got the potted tree section on the right finished, along with a few more flowers in the border.

Sarah Woodham

I also worked on the bottom left a little and put some hair on the girls (poor things were bald for quite awhile)!

DSC_0020

I received a package from Down Sunshine Lane today.

This book from Blackbird Designs is amazing!!

Click here to see more pictures that I took of the inside. It's really packed full of beautiful designs! Write soon! :)

Sarah Woodham

I got Sarah back out yesterday. I just love this sampler...

It still blows my mind to think that Sarah was only nine when she stitched this. When I was nine I spent my time watching Brady Bunch reruns and playing barbies. Definitely not thinking of stitching a large sampler! :)

I had couple people ask where to find this pattern. It is in three issues of Fine Lines Magazine - Summer 2002, Fall 2002 and Winter 2003. I found a couple of the them on eBay. Write soon!

Obsessing....

I really want to start Hannah Pepper. Siobhan, you called me on it - when I said I didn't want to start anything big right now. I just can't help myself!! :) The only problem with Hannah is I don't have the called for silks (AVAS). I do have the DMC.

Hannah Pepper

I think they're very pretty. I also did a conversion to Needlepoint Inc. (my favorite silks).

Hannah Pepper

I switched out the lighter green for a darker green, so it looks more like the picture. I'm still thinking about it, but I think I may go with the NPI. What do you all think??

ETA: I went with NPI. I really like how it's turning out...

Here are the colors I'm using (I'm still not sure about a couple).

AVAS - NPI
4116 - 905
3426 - 156
4146 - 587
2533 - 694
945 - 636
2242 - 693
2236 - 313 or 903?
3441 - 671
2914 - 571 or 532?

I'm going to get started on block number five later. Here are the threads for it, I think they're so pretty!

Blackbird Designs Start and AotH

I ended up starting Blackbird Designs "Blessings and Kind Wishes." I have loved this design for a long time. The only thing I'm not loving is the 30 ct. linen. I'm so used to 40 ct. and I'm so used to using one strand of thread that I'm thinking of starting over (I know, crazy). I may set it aside for now and decide later.

I also got back to my Anniversaries of the Heart. I'm working on the March block.

DSC_0014

I think I'm going to put my oldest son's name on this block. His birthday is actually in June, but the June block is pretty girly, so I might just put my family where I think they look best instead of what the month actually is.

I substituted WDW Beige for GAST Harvest Basket in the windows. I thought it gave a little bit more contrast.

AotH

Well, nothing else going on here!! Just hanging out with Matthew and doing laundry, which I always seem to be doing! :) Write soon!

Now, I think I'm going to get back to Anniversaries of the Heart or maybe start something new (something that doesn't take at least a fat 1/4 of linen). :)

Shores Block Five and a Surprise!

Thank you all for your very kind comments on Paradise Lost! They really mean so much to me. And I do love "The Flood," but think I need a break from starting anything too big right now. Once I get Shores finished I plan to work on some smaller things for awhile. :)

Anyway, here is my progress on block five...

Finished Stitching For Sale

I have decided to sell some things I have stitched. My tastes have changed a lot and I'd like them to go to a good home! :)

Souvenir of Paris Finished!

I finished my first Blackbird Designs stocking today!! It wasn't too hard. Just don't look too closely because it's definitely not perfect!!

BBD Souvenir of Paris

This is the backing fabric I used. I thought it was perfect for it. I decided to use just a simple ribbon for a hanger.
