I got mail today!

Gee... I wonder what it could be??

Oh, imagine that, more yarn! :)

And more Koigu!! :)

I love getting packages in the mail! It's so much fun! I spent all of Sunday and Monday cleaning my house. My dad is coming and it's motivated me to get things done that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I ended up taking Jake's armoire and using it for my computer. It looks so much better than the little desk I had that showed all the mess and cords!

Here's the armoire closed...

Here's the armoire open...

I did get a little knitting done today, about 20 minutes. My raglan has a couple more inches now....

Well, not much else! Jake is crying for me, so I'd better go!

My Koigu Kersti arrived today!! :) It's so pretty!!

And I couldn't resist starting my body-hugger tonight!

It's really turning out nice. I'm so happy!! :) I found another LYS today! It's Knitting Emporium located in Kennesaw on Main St. It's in a gift shop they're kind of squished in one little room, but they had a lot to choose from. I bought some purple Cascade 220 and some DP needles in sz 0 to do some socks! :) She said they were going to start having classes, which I think would be a lot of fun. I need all the help I can get!! LOL! Well, not much else... Bradley has survived his 3rd week of Pre-K. He's doing pretty well, I'm proud of him! Well, speaking of Bradley he wants me to read him a story, so I'll write more later!

JOY! That's my latest project. But let me tell you it hasn't been joy! I keep messing up!! I've taken it apart once and have back-tracked more than once! Oh well, I think I'm on the right track, and if there are any mistakes I really don't care! :)

Well, that's about all I've been doing and trying to keep up with my nutso kids!!! Why do they have to fight so much????

I finished my ChicKami! But it's huge!! I just don't know what I was thinking making it so big! Oh well, live and learn! Here's a pic...

I'll probably delete the pic soon, I just don't like looking at pictures of me online! :) Well, that's all for now!

Well, I ended up dropping my health class. I was just feeling panicked everytime I thought about it. I knew I was overextended with work, house and most of all kids and dh! I plan on taking it again in the summer or online. I feel like a weight has been lifted!!

I knitted a little today on my Big Bad Baby Blanket! :) Here's a pic...

A close up...

I love this blanket, but I don't really have anyone to give it to because it's definitely not girly, and I only know people who are having girls or who have had a girl. Oh well, I'll just keep it, maybe I'll have a grandson in 20 years? LOL! :)

Well, I've splurged and ordered some Kersti from Threadbear to do the Raglan Body-Hugger from The Purl Stitch book. I bought the book today at Michaels with my 40% off coupon. Click here to see the pattern and the yarn. I got the K118L. I also orded some Cascade 220 in color number 9451 to do Sophie, a cute little felted bag. I can't wait to get my order!! I'm selling some Rowan Summer Tweed yarn on ebay, to help pay for the new yarn! :)

I finished a sleeve last night that belongs to my funnelneck sweater. I think I'm going so slow because the color is pretty drab. Charcoal gray, but I know I'll love wearing it once it's finished. I just love to knit or stitch with bright, pretty colors! Well, not much else write more soon! :)

I went to a Baby Shower today. It was a typical baby shower, silly games, lots of oohing and awing over cute little baby clothes. Like I've mentioned in previous posts I've definitely become cynical though... because I now know they become toddlers!!! Aaaaahhhh!! Where everything is messy and the clothes are all stained and they don't listen. Along with hitting, biting, spitting... am I missing anything? I do love my boys more than anything though. They do a lot of wonderful stuff too. Like say I love you or give me a kiss out of the blue. It's just very hard to be a mom of two toddlers! :) One thing that the girl had at the shower was a litter of kittens. I fell head over heals for a sweet fluffy blue-eyed boy kitty. I seriously almost took him home. My dh wouldn't have been happy. He's not an animal lover and we've had many discussions over it. I think I may get him though. But maybe I shouldn't because Jake isn't even two yet. I know I should wait, but this kitty was so sweet. Oh man, what should I do? I'll sleep on it. That's what.

Anyway, I knitted a pink dishcloth. It was done diagonally, and turned out pretty. I just want something simple and quick to do yesterday. I'm kind of in crafty limbo. I want to stitch or knit something, I just don't know what. I'm thinking of selling some yarn I bought on eBay. Maybe to get something new that really gets me going!! :)

My mom called yesterday and said my brother wants us all to move down to Florida to open a Quiznos. I was not thrilled with the idea of someone telling me what I was to do with MY life. I love my brother and I'd love to be closer to him and my in-laws, but Quiznos?? No thanks! And I really like living in NW GA. The trees, the hills, the weather (no hurricanes). It's just so nice. I do love Florida too, but I just put Bradley in Pre-K. My dh is finally back to full-duty and loves his job. I just don't want to move again right now. Things are going well for us. My brother moved away, he should move back if he wants to be near us. But I don't think he would ever leave because of his wife and he loves being near the water. Oh well, maybe someday.... just not now.

I went to Strings and Strands today! I got some yarn...

It's more Noro Kureyon in color #40 to do another Booga Bag. I started a Rowan tank Pool, but I just didn't understand some of the instructions, so I took it apart and I'm going to do another one. I'm just not that advanced yet! Well, not much else. I'm pretty tired, I stayed up late and I had to get up early this morning. Write more later....

Argh!!! Yesterday was not a good knitting day! I ended up scrapping the Bucket hat I started, the sides and brim looked great, it was the top that I couldn't get to look right. I don't know what I was doing wrong. I think it was partly because I was using cotton and it's just not as forgiving as wool or a wool blend. I think I may start over with wool. And then I dropped a stitch on my baby blanket and it went pretty far down. So I started that over. I was very frustrated. Dh said he like it better when I was a cross stitching, I never got that frustrated! :) Well, I'm going to go to Strings and Strands today. I'm going to take Jake with me, I just hope he behaves!! :) Well, that's all for now!

My baby is now a school boy! It seems so hard to believe that Bradley is in school. The only thing is he really hates to get up in the morning. He's used to sleeping in until 8:30 - 9. I'm having trouble getting him to eat anything before school also. He's so stubborn!! Anyway, he seems to be doing good. And we didn't cry the first day, although we both wanted to! LOL! :)

Well, I was happily knitting away on my chickami when I realized this thing is way too big!! I thought it would be a little big, but it's just huge!! I think I may finish it anyway and try to shrink it some. It's made with cotton, so I think it will work. I just hope I don't mess it up! I also received my yarn for my Tipsy sweater! Here's a pic...

Doesn't it look yummy??

I can't wait to start it, but I need some size 1 needles first! I think I may go to strings and strands Friday to get some and maybe some Calmer for Audrey.

Well, that's all for now, I really need to clean my neglected house!!! Write more later!

More ChicKami! It's getting bigger! :) I realized I did the decreasing wrong it was supposed to be every 4 rows and I did every 3 rows. For example I thought it was 1, 4, 8, etc. It's supposed to be 1, 5, 9, 13, etc. Oh well, live and learn! So I'm going to be a few rows short, oh well, I'm a short girl, so it should be ok. I've also started on a sleeve for my funnelneck sweater. I really want to go to strings and strands tomorrow to get some Rowan Calmer for Audrey... we'll see if my mom can go with me! ;) That's all for now!

Here's my finished Booga Bag! I finished it up last night. I probably could've felted it a little more, but I like it.

Here's a side view. I'd like to make another one for my mom, she really liked how it turned out. Well, not much else! Just working on my tank some. :) Write more later...

I can't go to Strings and Strands today, so I thought I'd print out the colors (I know not the same) and see which colorway I like best.

It's a toss up between the 1st and 2nd, I defnitely don't like the 3rd the best, so I can rule that one out. Hmmm... I'm not obsessed... really!
Another update... I was looking through my Rowan Magazine 35 and I've decided I have to knit Tipsy. I think it's definitely the cross stitcher coming out in me because the pattern on the sweater looks like cross stitch. Hmm... I wonder how much it would be?? :)
First of all I just want to say I'm so glad my friend Stacey's son was found! I didn't even realize it was her son that was missing until I saw her on the news last night. I met her online through the cross stitch BB's and she has a great blog Perle Moon. She really got a lot of stitchers blogging. Anyways, I can totally relate because I also have a 4 year old and realize how smart they can be! I told my husband we defiinitely need to get that lock for the sliding glass door now! Stacey, I'm so glad David was found!

I did knit last night, in fact I knitted so much all I did was dream about knitting. I knitted up my Booga Bag. I'm not too thrilled with the colors (green and brown mixed in with the purples, blues and pinks). But I think it might look better once it's felted. If not I'll give it to my mom and make another for me! LOL! :) I'll post a pic later. Just wanted to say again how glad I am that my friend's son was found!!

edited to add booga bag pic:

Monday, August 02, 2004

Ok, last update for today, I promise!! :) I finished 1/2 of my sweater! Now on to the other half, or maybe a booga bag??

Here's a pic of the beginning of my socks. I'm using Lion Brand's Magic Stripes wool.

Wow! Where do I start!! I've been knitting like a mad woman! I learned how to knit on double pointed needles and I've started some socks (I'll take a pic later). I've worked on my tank some...

And I've worked on my sweater some. I'm almost done with one side! :) I went to Strings and Strands again today. I just love that shop! The owner is so helpful and nice!! I bought the Rowan Pattern Book Summer Tweed Collection. I just love everything in it!! I also bought Rowan Magazine #35. I'd love to join the Audrey Knitalong one day. I bid on some Rowan Calmer on eBay... we'll see if I win. :) I also got some Noro Kureyon in color #139 to do a Booga Bag. I don't know what to work on now, should I finish something? Should I start something new!!? I'm a knitting spaz!! :) Well, that's all for now. Going to call my dh and calm down a little!! :)
