H is for Honey...

My dh insists it's H is for Honey Bee - and he could very well be right because the bee is in the other block. I would've never thought of that. :) I did get a little bit more done. I would love to get this finished up so I can start one of the new charts I got recently. Here's a progress pic...

H is for Honey

Sorry Game Board SALers I didn't get any progress done on my sampler. I will this week definitely though! :) Write more soon!

Still not much stitching...

It's been a busy week! I worked Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday Bradley had his little kindergarten graduation ceremony and Friday my mom was supposed to close on her house, but didn't. So I ran back forth helping her out, plus getting the room downstairs ready for her stay in.

I've been trying to work on H is for Honey by The Prairie Schooler. I got a teeny bit of progress done...

H is for Honey

Sorry the picture is not the greatest... still trying to figure out my new camera. Sometimes I think newer is not always better. :) Well, not much else going on here. I've got to work the weekend, and one day next week and then I get over a week off... can't wait!! Write later!

Not much stitching...

I was feeling so much pain and pressure yesterday that all I could do was lay down. I think it was from working the previous three days. It just wears me out! I work in a grocery store, so there is a lot of lifting, bagging, pushing of carts, etc. I don't always do that - sometimes I just count cash all night, which is not too much of a strain. I'll be so glad when I go down to two days a week and then when I go on maternity leave in July! I did get one house and some letters done on my Game Board Sampler. Here's a pic...

Gameboard Sampler as of 5/22/06

Well, not much else going on... just getting ready to take Jake to Mcdonalds. :) Write later!

Edited to add....

I got my Quaker Garden Fabric today - 32 ct. Lakeside Linen in Pear! It's so pretty!! Here's a picture with the threads...

Less than 10 weeks now!

I'm getting bigger everyday! He's starting to move up into my ribs, making sitting for long periods of time very uncomfortable! I was thinking of going down to Florida in June, but I'm not sure if I could handle the drive. While I was working yesterday I had two customers comment on how I looked like I was ready to have my baby very soon. I don't think I look that big! Anyway, my mom is selling her house and moving to Florida at the end of the month, so that will cut my hours even more. Well, in other news...

I got another package in the mail! Stitching Bits and Bobs was having a 25% off sale. I just can't resist a sale, so I got a few things off my wish list...

New Stash - May 17

I got two Little House Needleworks charts - The Rose in the Morning and Rose Cottage, along with the Crescent Colors to stitch Rose Cottage. Second I got Milady's Needle Quaker Rule Accoutrements and the Olde Willow threads to stitch them. Third is a few Drawn Threads Charts - Good Neighbor, Spot of Spring and Sunflower Bellpull, and last is a couple of Brightneedle charts - Sampler Sampler and Pretty in Pink. I know it seems like a lot, but at 25% off it was a pretty good deal! I think I'm all set stash wise for a good while! I know dh thinks so! :)

I have some progress on my Game Board Sampler. I finished the bottom row!! Woo hoo, only seven more rows to go! ;)

Gameboard Sampler

My dh took my camera to work, so I'm stuck using my scanner an old camera. Oh well, I think I'll live?? :)

Finished Busy!

It took a lot less time to finish than I thought! I sat down for about an hour and got it done!

Shepherd's Bush Busy

Unlike Hunt I kept the lettering and the hat. Hmmm... what to work on next?? :)

Mother's Day

I had a nice Mother's Day yesterday. I left the kids with their Daddy and then picked up my mom. First we went to IKEA. It was crazy!! We got a few things we needed and then went to lunch at Outback. After that we went to Tiny Stitches, a quilt store in Marietta. I almost got some fabric to make a baby quilt, but I chickened out. I've never made a quilt before! It's not that I don't have the time... it's the courage! I'm still thinking about it though because I know it would be so cute. I did get a couple fat quarters to make some stitching into a pocket or a needlebook or something??

Fabric

I started Shepherd's Bush's Busy on Saturday. I'm almost finished. I just love these little sheep! :)

Shepherd's Bush Busy wip

Well, that's all that's been going on here. I plan to get the sheepie done tonight. I'll post a pic tonight or tomorrow!

Game Board Sampler Progress...

I worked on my Game Board Sampler yesterday before work. I got some of the alphabet done, two motifs, and one house done! Here's a couple of pics...

Game Board Sampler

I also got some new stash in the mail! :) I ended up signing up for the Loose Feathers Club. I ordered the new Quaker Garden and the reprint of Strawberry Garden from Needlecraft Corner. From Elegant Stitch I got Carriage House Samplings Hearts and Flowers and Little House Needleworks Morning Berries with the Crescent Color Threads to go with it.

New Stash!

I also ordered the threads and fabric for Strawberry and Quaker Gardens. For Quaker Garden I ordered Lakeside Linen's Pear from Wyndham. It will probably take at least two weeks for that to get here.

Threads

So it's been a good early Mother's Day here! :) It's also been good because DH got me a new camera! It's a Nikon Coolpix S3. I'm still getting used to it - all the different types of pictures you can take, etc. Well, not much else going on here! Write more later!

A tisket, a tasket...

I got a new basket! I was browsing Joann's today and saw they had these cute baskets 40% off so I got a bright, cheery one. I thought it would be a good place to put my fat quarters, ribbons, and pins. Here's a couple of pics...

Now maybe I can get motivated to do some finishing! :)

Another Small Finish...

I started a small freebie yesterday - Carriage House Sampling's Needle. I was looking through some things the other day and I found the pattern. I love small finishes - they definitely have that instant gratification factor! here's a pic - sorry the scan is a little crooked.

Needle by Carriage House Samplings

The fabric is a scrap I picked up from my LNS a long time ago, so I'm not sure what color it is, but I do know it's 32 ct. The threads are all Sampler Threads. This was a lot of fun to stitch. I may have to stitch a couple more of these! :)

Well, not much else going on here. Finally got my three year old to go to bed at a decent time. He's been wired lately. Not wanting to go to bed until 10 pm! Hopefully that little phase is now over!! I'll probably work on my Game Board Sampler tomorrow - write more then.

A teeny tiny ufo finish...

I was looking through some things last night and came across an old kit - Strawberries and Cream beginning hardanger by Serendipity. I had done all the hardanger on it, but not the regular stitching. So I decided to finish it up last night. I like how they finished theirs, I'll probably do something similar.

Strawberries and Cream

Well, I'm off to get ready for work. I'm going to take "H is for Honey" with me and work on that on my break! Write later!!

Wayward Garden Borders

Well, I finished two sides of the outside border, so I decided to start on the inside floral border for a change. I figure if I stitch two to three floral motifs a week I'll be doing good. I plan to stitch two houses and two motifs on my Game Board Sampler a week and then work on a small project in between the two. Here's a pic of my Wayward Garden...

Wayward Garden Flowers

I usually only double post during a day when I'm bored. I should've gone somewhere today. McDonald's - anywhere, just to get us out of the house. Oh well, tomorrow I work and I will be busy enough! Write later... not today again though! :)

Blame it on the baby....

I started another new project and I'm blaming it on the baby!! I did the same thing when I was pregnant with Jake... I started so many new projects a lot of them became UFOs. Hopefully that doesn't happen this time!!! I ended up starting Drawn Thread's Sampler Game Board. A few other bloggers (Cathy, Bine, Leila, and Myrna) are stitching this and I can never resist a SAL! :)

The Next Project I'm plotting....
Pattern and Threads

Drawn Thread Sampler Game Board
My Progress as of Today

I didn't finish the date because I'm not sure if I'll finish it this year. I hope I do, but with the baby coming in 11 weeks, I'm not sure if that will be a reality! :) I'm stitching it on 28 ct. Light Mocha Cashel using DMC. I was going to order the 25 ct. Dublin, but decided to just use something from my stash.

Speaking of baby, I bought his stroller yesterday! A friend of mine pointed out this one at Walmart. I thought it was online only, but I found one at my local walmart and I grabbed it. The price is about $50 less than the one I was going to buy. I told my friend I would post pictures of the one I bought because it's actually darker than the pictures on the website.

Well, now I'm all set for baby! All I'll need is diapers and wipes! :) It's been nice not having to buy them for about 6 months. Oh well, what can ya do!? Write more later!

Well, wish me luck! I'm going to look for batting and something to stick in the middle... mat board or something??

Over one!

I started a small project last week. It's American Girl from Brightneedle's Small Samplings collection. I'm stitching it over one on 28 ct. Antique White Quaker Cloth. I plan on trying to make my first pinkeep. I got the idea from Danielle over at The Peacock's Feather. Here's a link to her pinkeep - So cute!! I just hope mine comes out half as cute. I got the pins and interfacing, I just need to get the batting and backing fabric. Here's a pic of my wip...

Stiching over one is definitely addicting! I'm already looking at other over one projects to do. I've only done a few things over one - Lavender and lace Angel faces - Angel of the Morning...

and Peace Angel...

and a little bit of over one in my Drawn Thread class project Three Friends...

and a fob from Just Nan's 20 Flowers that I still need to make into a fob...

I think that's all my over one projects. Over one was definitely tricky for me at first, and then I realized it definitely helps to stitch each stitch indidually and to stitch a different way for the different threads on the linen. Wish me luck with the finishing! :)

Oh, before I go I have one more thing to add to my wish list... another Au Fil des Reves design - Accessoires Un soir d'ete.

Au Fil des Reves - Accessoires Un soir d'ete - Chart

Ashleigh from Stitched in Holland recently finished this and it is absolutely gorgeous!!! I wish I had just 1/10th the talent in finishing that she does! The fabrics she chose are so pretty! I love it!! Click here to see it on her blog.

Well, that's all for now! I went for my 28 week check up. Baby's heart is beating strong! Can't wait to see the little guy!! :)
