Kindred Spirits

I worked on "Kind Fond Love" for a little bit and then I got bored (that's been happening a lot lately). So I decided to restart an old project I had started last year. The Primitive Needle's "Kindred Spirits."

First here is the little bit of progress I got on KFL...

Kind Fond Love Sampler
40 ct. Vintage Light Examplar, DMC (1 over 2).

And here is my "Kindred Spirits" start...

Kindred Spirits
36 ct. Days Gone By Silkweaver Linen, Belle Soie silks - Noir, Kiwi, and Lasagne (1 over 2).

I'm loving it so far! I was not happy with the fabric I was using before, and I'm much happier now that I'm using the recommended fabric.

The weather has finally cooled down here in South Carolina. It's been such a hot summer and it's such a relief to go outside and not have it so hot and humid that I can barely breathe. I have the windows open and the air off. It's so nice to hear the birds singing and feel a cool breeze! Well, nothing else going on here. Maybe I'll get out and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts! Write soon!

More Love and Wisdom

I got a little bit more stitched on Love and Wisdom.

Love and Wisdom as of 9/27/09
32 ct. Natural Belfast Linen, NPI silk (1 over 2).

I didn't get a whole lot stitched because I spent a lot of the weekend cleaning and doing laundry and doing all the other stuff I do to get ready for the week. I'm feeling blah about it though because it's not Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow or Plum Street Samplers' Paradise Lost. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those patterns and start stitching! I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas!

Anyway, I got back out Kind Fond Love. I haven't worked on it in so long. I decided to work on the two guys with the grapes, instead of going back to all that grass! I hope to have a little progress pic tomorrow.

Write soon!

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments on my "Happy Haunting" finish! I decided to get back out "Love and Wisdom" by The Drawn Thread. I got a few bands stitched last night.

Happy Haunting Finished!

I got it finished up today! I was determined to get it stitched before dh got home from his trip. I made it just in time because he comes home tomorrow! :)

I'm trying to decide what to stitch now. I don't want to start anything new because I really want to start one of the new releases from market although I haven't decided which one yet. So I'll probably work on getting something else finished up. Write soon! :)

Pattern Darning

I love pattern darning, almost as much as I love bargello. There's just something about it that makes a design so pretty. I finished up the pattern darning row on "Happy Haunting" late last night.

Happy Haunting

I just have a few more rows and then I'll be on to the graveyard at the bottom! Can't wait for that! It's such a cute little graveyard. :) Write soon!

Edited to add: I had a few people ask what pattern darning is. It's is the last band of stitching that is shown on my sampler. Here is an article from the ANG to learn more. :)

A Little More Happy Haunting

I got a few specialty bands stitched. I don't have a lot of progress because I have been cleaning and organizing all my junk the past two days! It's amazing how it accumulates so fast! And I save the silliest things. I kept asking myself "Why did I keep this?" Sometimes I just don't know what I was thinking! :) Anyway here's my little progress pic...

My dh left on a business trip yesterday, so I hope to get lots of stitching done during the next nine days! :) Write soon!!

SALE!

I have placed many new items for sale on my trade blog.

The UFO's are gone now, but I still have several charts left!

Happy Haunting

I finished up the top part of "Happy Haunting" this morning! Now it's on to the fun part... The bands of specialty stitches!

Shepherd's Bush "Happy Haunting"

Nothing really going on here. Just hanging out with Matthew today. Write soon!

Here's my little progress on "My Lady's Quaker" as promised...

My Lady's Quaker

I haven't really gotten too much stitched on it. I did switch out the lighter silk I used for her skin (706) and used 531 instead. It's still a little light, but I think I'm going to leave it.

I also got back out "Happy Haunting" by Shepherd's Bush. I started it two years ago and put it aside. Well, I'm determined to finish it this year. Here's the progress I made on it yesterday...

I'm not using the linen that came in the kit, instead I decided to use 32 ct. Antique Cotton by R&R.

I got some threads for "A Sampling in the Square" yesterday. I'm not sure when I'll start this, but I think the colors are so bright and pretty!

I already had the linen, which is 40 ct. Vintage Buttercream by Lakeside Linens.

Well, I have so much to do today - laundry, dishes and cleaning to get ready for the coming week. But all I really want to do today is stitch! What a dilemma! :) Write soon!

Pumpkin Muffins

OMG! These are so good! I used this recipe from Smitten Kitchen.

Pumpkin Muffins

I also made a little maple butter to go with them. I used a 1/4 cup of softened butter and mixed in a tablespoon or so of maple syrup. Words just can't describe how good it was!

Thank you all for all your kind comments on my "Sampler Stocking." I've been working on "My Lady's Quaker," but I don't have enough progress to show a new picture. Hopefully tomorrow!

Well, it turns out I'm not able to go to Myrtle Beach in October after all. I had promised my mom I would go down to Florida when the kids had a four day weekend next month. Well, it turns out that it's the same weekend as the Pals Fall Fling. I would cancel going down to Florida, but my mom is going through a really hard time right now and it's the only time that the kids have off until Thanksgiving. I felt really bad when I emailed Amy today to let her know I couldn't go. I hope she understands! Sorry again Amy!

Well, I've got to get back to cleaning. Write later!

Sampler Stocking Finished!

I finished up my Sampler Stocking today. The eyelet alphabet seemed to take me forever! Now comes the fun part - finishing it into a stocking! I may wait and have my mom help me. She is a much better sewer than I am!

Sampler Stocking Progress

I have been working on my "Sampler Stocking" for the past couple of days. I'm determined to get it finished up soon.

Sampler Stocking as of 9/4/09

I completed these two sections

I was at Barnes and Noble the other day and found this book...

I really want to make this quilt....

The fabric used is Blackbird Designs "Harvest Home." It's so pretty! I really need to finish up my little table topper first though! ;)

Well, I'll be looking forward to sleeping in for the next few days. It's been a rough week. Matthew caught a cold and hasn't been sleeping well. He's finally getting over it, so it should be a good weekend. Write soon!

Coffee Pillows

I decided to make a couple pillows with some of the leftover squares from my Bistro Layer Cake. I got out "Love My Coffee" by Lizzie Kate and "Caffe Latte" by LHN. Bradley (my nine year old) helped me pick out the fabric for both of these! He has a good eye for color.

I also worked on my Sampler Stocking a little bit. I have been working on it exclusively - I really want to get it finished up soon!
