Cross Stitch!

I actually cross stitched yesterday for the first time in months. I picked up an old kit I started last year and got a little bit done....

Shepherd's Bush Bloom

It's Bloom by Shepherd's Bush. Hopefully I can stick with it and get it finished up! I'm almost finished with the 2nd sleeve on my green ribby cardi. That's another thing I would love to finish up! I ended up not going to the SnB meeting in Kennesaw. My mom had a migraine and I figured she needed her rest more than I needed to knit! Oh well, maybe next week?? Well, I'd better get ready for work... write more soon!!! :)

We're meeting tomorrow at the Cozzi Cafe at 7:30 pm. Hopefully a few people will show up! This will be my first knit-together. I've done plenty of stitch-in's but, no knit-in's. I know it will be fun!

Happy Easter!

My priorities right now are the socks and green ribby cardi, next will be the scarves and then the other sweaters. Now that I'm full time the cables are a little much for a quick work project. I'm afraid they'll be wips or UFO's for awhile! Ack! :)

I have also been trying to teach myself how to spin. Let me just say it's not pretty. I need A LOT of practice and probably a couple classes! Now I know why so many people get spinning wheels after working with a drop spindle for a little bit. Well, that's all for now. Going to work on my socks! :)

Clapotis is done!

I finished it the day before at work. I had to make it a little shorter because I was afraid I was going to run out of yarn! Here's some pics....

Clapotis as of 3/15
Almost Done

Finished Clapotis!!
Finished 3/15

Now I just have to weave in all the ends, fun, fun! I think I'll work on my other artyarns sock now, or one of my ribby cardi sleeves. I got some yarn to make my mom some socks for Mother's Day. It's Kathmandu Aran in a natural cream color to make the socks for the Jane Ellison Queensland Collection. My mom loves white, cream and natural colors, so I think she'll like these....

Clapotis...

Clapotis

I dragged out the ole clapotis and got back to work on it yesterday. I just love this yarn... I don't think I'm going to have enough yarn to make a full Clapotis though... so it may be a little smaller. That's ok with me, it will be a great scarf/shawl for those chilly Georgia mornings.

I saw the story of the woman held hostage by the cop/judge/court reporter killer. I think she's leaving a lot out, but what can you do. I'm just grateful he's behind bars, hopefully forever.

Artyarns sock #1 done!

I finished one sock yesterday, and I love it!! It's so thick and cushy! :) Here's a couple pics....

First Artyarns sock finished Artyarns sock on my foot

I've been working on my ribby cardi a little bit... I'm about to start my second ball of yarn on the left front.

Well, I'm so glad that they caught that guy yesterday, but so sad that he killed another law enforcement officer. My husband has a friend who went to Customs in Atlanta recently, thankfully he's fine. It's just all so sad and I'm so glad it's finally over.

Very sad....

I've been knitting my sock while watching the news in downtown Atlanta unfold. There was a shooting in a courthouse and the suspect has killed a judge, court reporter, one sheriff's deputy and possibly another deputy. It's just so unbelievably sad. It especially hits home because one year ago today my husband was shot in the line of duty. Thankfully he's doing fine now. I just feel so deeply saddened for those who were killed and their families. I just couldn't imagine where I would be right now or what we would've have gone through if my husband wasn't here with us today. I just don't understand what's wrong with some people. What are thinking when they shoot a gun at someone especially a police officer or judge, people who are there to uphold the law and provide safety and security for us all. Well, I didn't mean to get off on a tangent. It's just really affected me.

Tired!

I stayed up way too late last night! I decided to start an Artyarns sock using the turquiose (#107).

I'm using size 3 needles and I am doing a basic 2x2 ribbing for the cuff. I'll probably make it about 6 inches. I'm really loving these socks, and I think they will only take two skeins. I did buy three just in case.

I also took a picture of my GGH Soft Kid in the natural light... doesn't it look so yummy??

GGH Soft Kid

Well, gotta go do play-doh with Jake, and get some more coffee!! :)

Fun, fun!!

I went to Knitting Emporium tonight for the Open House/Customer appreciation night. There were a lot of people there, I was pretty impressed! They have already started moving into the other rooms. So exciting! I really tried to be good and just get what I came for, but they had NEW Artyarns Supermerino in. I just couldn't resist it!!! So here is what I got....

Artyarns Supermerino #111 and #107

I got the Soft Kid to make the pretty wrap top in the new Rebecca 29 magazine. I got everything 10% off, so it was definitely worth it! I'm so happy just looking at my new stash! :)

Oh, I did finish something in time to wear to the shop....

Two Finished socks on my feet!

Great Day!

My wonderful dh watched the kids while my mom and I went shopping. First we stopped at a quilt shop (Tiny Stitches in Marietta) and bought a couple yards of some beautiful fabric. Then we went to Calico Corners and oohed and aahed over the Ralph Lauren and Laura Ashley fabrics. After that we went the French Bakery La Madeline and had a yummy brunch. And then we went to Cast on Cottage and Browsed for about an hour. Of course I had to get a few things....

Baby Alpaca dk

Koigu P531

Koigu in the colorway P531, I thought these would make some very pretty socks!

Jo Sharp book with Bartlett yarn

Mountain Colors pattern w/yarn

A Mountain Colors sock pattern to go with the Mountain Colors sock yarn I got a while ago.

Well, it was definitely a good day! Can't wait to do it again! :)

Good News!

I was at my LYS today (Knitting Emporium in Kennesaw) and they're expanding! The antique shop is moving out (has moved out actually) and they are taking over the entire house. I was so excited to see that! I think it really has potential to become a great shop! I did do a little shopping... I bought a couple patterns and some more sock yarn along with a couple of stitch holders. I'm waiting to get some more yarn when I go back next thursday for their special customer appreciation night. :)

I also got the right front of my Ribby Cardi done...

Ribby Cardi - Right Front

I decided to do the whole cardi in Dried Herb instead of two different colors because Elann released more of the Dried Herb. Well, I've almost made it through my 2nd week of full time. It's going pretty well so far! We're handling it better than I thought we would, and the extra money has definitely been nice! That's all for now! Write more soon!
