Wow, that was fast!

I received part of my order from Knit Pixie today. The Bartlett Bluebell is so pretty. It took all of my willpower not to cast on for Rogue! I need to finish a few things before I do that! Here's a picture of the yarn....

Bartlett - Bluebell

I also got one Skein of Alpaca Silk from Blue Sky Alpacas to make the bag on the cover of Last Minute Knitted Gifts. Or I plan on giving it to my mom to make it, she likes making bags. The yarn is so pretty and soft...

Alpaca Silk

I worked on my sleeve last night until I ran out of my first ball of yarn and today I've been working on my sock. And I'm very excited because my two year old went poop on the potty! Only a mother of a toddler could understand this excitement! :) That's all for now! Probably won't update again until Monday when all the in-laws are gone!

Instant Gratification....

I started Wendy's Fingerless Mitts yesterday. I Finished one in just a couple hours. It turned out really cute, although I do have a little hole on the back side. Oh well, if I decide to redo it I know it won't take long. I'm sure the next one will be better...

fingerless mitts

I used Noro Silk Garden - can't find the ball band, so I'm not sure which color it is (edited to add it's color #53). I also worked on my sleeve some more along with my socks. My dad is coming back tonight and my in-laws tomorrow. They're bring my nephew up from Florida, so it should be pretty exciting around here. I have to work all weekend, so I'll miss some of it... darn! :) Well, not much else... if you have time check out Margene's post for today... it's awesome!

It's Here!

My Peace Fleece arrived today! It's beautiful!!

Peace Fleece - Natural light

Ok, even my four year old thinks I should go with the Spiced Wine, so I stopped being lazy and started the sleeve....

Ribby Cardi - Dried Herb with Spiced Wine

I think I'm definitely going to like it. Now what to do with those purple sleeves? :)

More Sock...

I stayed up way too late last night knitting this sock. This pattern is so great because I pretty much have it memorized now. I'm making these a little smaller 5 1/2 inches to the heel instead of 7. I can't wait to wear them!! :)

Ocean Medley sock as of 1/24/05

I ordered some yarn last night! I ordered Bartlett Glen Tweed for Rogue in Bluebell. It's a very pretty light purply-blueish-gray...

Bartlett yarn - Glen Tweed Bluebell

I ordered it from Knit Pixie, if you register you get 10% off, so it was a pretty good deal! I was going to use the Highland wool from Elann, but I heard it's not a good choice for Rogue. I got the idea to use the Bartlett from Lauren (Almost Felted) who is using the Glen Tweed in Lovat. Her Rogue is coming out great!! Last week I also ordered something else. Only because I know I'm getting my taxes back in a couple weeks. DH is getting a big screen TV, I can get some yarn! I'm such a good justifier! LOL! I ordered the Peace Fleece Everyday Cardigan kit in Volgasippi Blue.

As for Ribby Cardi, I think I'm going to stick with the Eggplant for the sleeves. I think they will look fine (i.e. I'm too lazy to restart the sleeves). Well, that's all for now! Write more later!

Decisions, decisions....

I got four of the Spiced Wine Highland Wool from Elann because I thought it might look good with the Antique Rose. It didn't. So I was thinking it looks kinda good with the Dried Herb and my dh thinks so too. What do you all think? Eggplant, or Spiced Wine. These colors are going to drive me insane, I know I'm making way too much of all this!!

Eggplant or Spiced Wine?

I finally blocked Butterfly the other day. It turned out really nice. Only the sleeves are sooooo long!! I shortened them by 1 inch, I should've done at least 2 or 3. Oh well, I still like it....

Butterfly Back of Butterfly

I also started another sock using some Sock it to Me yarn I got through Elann. The color is from the Puzzle Collection - Ocean Medley.

Sock it to me Puzzle collection - Ocean Medley

I'm using the same pattern as my first ones. I like the simplicity of it. Well, not much else going on right now. We are sad because the Falcons lost to the Eagles... oh well, there's always next year. Write more soon!!

I finished my socks!!

I actually finished them on Tuesday night, but my dad was here and I didn't get a chance to blog. I think they turned out pretty cute and they are so comfy! I can't wait to start on the next pair!! :)

a pair of socks!

Here's a picture of them on my feet...

And with my jeans...

Can you tell I love these socks?? There are more pics in my Flickr album.

I started the Chevron Scarf from The Last Minute Knitted Gifts book using Julia's modifications. It was such a coincedence that I saw her post right after I had bought the Artyarns supermerino. And I couldn't decide if I wanted to make some socks or a scarf. Well, I decided to do the scarf and it's turning out so pretty, here's a pic...

Artyarns Scarf

Here's a close up without a flash...

I went to Strings and Strands today. I just love that shop! It's got everything! I didn't buy any yarn though... just drooled and caressed. :P I did buy a Rowan Magazine, #28. It has some very cute designs in it, including a few Debbie Bliss. My favorites are Emmeline by Sarah Dallas, Onza and Slick by Kim Hargreaves and an adorable sheep by Debbie Bliss. I pretty much love everything in it! :)

Well, not much else going on here... I have been working on Gloria Some. I started on the back. I love working with the Cashmerino, even if it does end up pilling! :) Whew! Didn't mean for this to be so long!!!

I love my husband!

He spoiled me yesterday! I got a new Vera Bradley knitting bag. It's so cute and perfect! The last one I got I've been using as a purse and it was just too small for my projects. Here's a pic...

New knitting bag

and here's the inside...

Inside new knitting bag

It's got a ton of pockets! I absolutely love it!! :)

Changing my look!

I thought it was time to change things around a bit! I'm still testing things out... like the picture border. Let me see if this works...

Yes! It works! It only took me about an hour to get it right!

Cozy Knitting...

The other night I had the whole house to myself, it was heaven! I had cleaned all day the day before, so I had nothing to do, but knit! I put a log in the fireplace and knit on my Koigu sock #2. Here are some pics of my cozy knitting night...

clean house! Cozy Knitting Koigu sock #2

Koigu sock 2 is almost done now and then I'll get back to my Ribby Cardi. I'm knitting both sleeves at once, so It's a little slow going. I may actually put them on separate needles because I like things to go a little faster! Especially when I have to stop ever few minutes to chase my two year old around! :)

Socks and new yarn...

I went to my LYS today, Knitting Emporium in Kennesaw. Everytime I go there they are adding new yarns and expanding. I'm so happy for them. The owner is so nice and friendly. She is so sweet to my two year old, which is definitely a rarity when it comes to LYS or LNS owners. I ended up getting and extra set of size 2 circulars to teach myself how to knit socks with two circs. I used this website for help. Here's my little progress pic...

sorry the pic is so dark

Here's a close up of the colors...

So far it seems to be coming along ok... we'll see!

I also got 3 skeins of Artyarns Supermerino #110. I've been eyeing it for awhile now. It's so soft and so pretty and so yummy, I could just eat it up! Here's a pic, it's really not that bright in person though. My camera is just whacky!

Artyarns Supermerino

I was thinking of making some thick, cozy socks with it, or a pretty scarf. I'm still deciding. I just love looking at it though. Well, not much else right now. Still working on Koigu sock #2 and a bunch of other things! :)

P.S. Here's a picture of the boy with a haircut and his brother, who gave him a nice bruise on his forehead today. ARgh... brothers!

Back of Green Ribby Cardi Finished....

I finished the back of my Cardi....

Back of Ribby Cardi 1/11/05

I may work on the sleeves now, just to make sure I really like the purple with the Dried Herb.

Mariah...

Mariah has definitely been a learning experience for me. Especially the increasing one stitch into three and decreasing five stitches into one. I had to rip about half of what I had done on the sleeve because I really messed it up, but I think I finally got the hang of it. And if I have a couple holey places, I'm leaving it and hoping it doesn't show. Here's my latest pic....

Mariah as of 1/11/05

I'm doing raised increases for the sides, and it seems to be working because it blends right in and none of those annoying holes that I always get from other increases. Anyways... that's all for now! :)

Much better....

I can already tell this sock is coming out much better. It's amazing what a difference eight less stitches make...

Sock 2 progress

After I took the picture of the sock my two year old said "Cheese me, cheese me!" Meaning take my picture mommy! Here's the cheesy picture...

cheesy jake

He desperately needs a hair cut, poor thing has a bald patch in front from where I had to cut a sucker out of his hair. Gotta love toddlers! :)

starting again...

Well, I thought I was almost 1/2 way to my goal, but that sock was way too big!! So I started again casting on 8 less stitches. Hopefully it will make a difference. If not, I'll be starting again! Practice makes perfect, right?? :)

Sock - restarted

I also got my yarn stash organized....

Yarn and thread

The thread on the sides is DMC floss, although I haven't used any of it in months! Here's a close up of the yarn...

I think I have enough for awhile!! Well, not much else! Going to clean up some more and then work on that sock! :)

My Goal for 2005

My Goal for 2005 is to finish one sock. And I'm about 1/2 way there...

Koigu Sock

I'm so fascinated by the heel...

Koigu Sock up close

I'm using Koigu KPPPM P100L and the pattern I'm using is from Sally Melville's Purl Stitch book. It's a little bigger than I would've liked, but it's good practice! Ok! Off to try and finish this sock! :)

Started Mariah's sleeve

I started Mariah's sleeve today. I'm taking the idea from everyone and swatching by starting a sleeve. So far it's really a fun knit. I'm enjoying using a chart. It definitely helps me keep my place.

Mariah Sleeve 1

The black is hard to photograph. But I think you get the idea. :) I also got my Chococolate Truffle Wool today and is it yummy!!

Happy New Year! Not much going on, just same old same old! I've got another cold, I'm so miserable! I'm going on 5 weeks straight of being sick! UGH! Anyway, I have been knitting a little. Here's Clapotis with a few more drops...

Clapotis as of 1/2/05

And I started Ribby Cardi again, this time in Dried Herb...

New Ribby Cardi as of 1/1/05

I'm still deciding which color to do the sleeves, it will either be...

Claret y5221719
Claret or Eggplant

I don't know, I'm overthinking this way too much! Well, better go... kids are acting crazy!
