Pear Tree Inn

Pear Tree Inn

I got some stitching done last night after the kids went to bed. I could barely keep my eyes open, but I was determined to get a little done. I love this design. I love the colors - they're so pretty. Yesterday was my birthday and I was having a little pity party for myself. Not because of my age. I truly believe your only as old as you feel (or act). But because birthdays always seem like such a let down. You expect to feel special, but really it's just another day. The baby spits up on you, the toddler throws a temper tantrum, husband forgets to call you. It seems by now I'd know better! :) I'm doing better today though. Probably because it's not my birthday! I think I need to go out of town next year! :) LOL!

I did get to stop by Michael's and I got the DMC for my next project Autumn Leaves...that perked me up some! :) Now I'm just trying to decide which fabric to use!

Autumn Leaves with Threads

Well, I'm off to feed my brother's cat (he's in the Florida Keys - I'm jealous). :) Write more later!

  1. Nicole,

A belated Happy Birthday to you! I know what you mean about your birthday being a letdown. I remember having an argument with DH on my birthday two years ago. I spent the day cleaning the house! Your stitching on Pear Tree Inn is looking good.

  2. Happy Birthday Nicole - a little late! I've gotten to the point that I buy my own gifts and give them to DH to disperse amongst the boys for giving. They think their dad has shopped for me and found all the things I love - maybe they will actually do this for their wives someday. I'm glad you got a treat for yourself! (Jerry does take me to dinner on my birthday - he just doesn't do shopping at least not anyplace I'd want a gift from).

  6. Oh, Nicole. Happy Birthday to you! Same thing happened on my birthday--family "forgot." My b'day was last month and I've yet to receive a card from them. LOL--I bought myself a really nice bunch of needlework stuff though for a gift!
