Weekend Stitching

I worked on "Finch Song" most of the weekend.

Finch Song as of 7/27/09

I also worked on "Love and Wisdom" a little bit on Friday. We are planning on going down to Florida sometime this week. I'm not exactly sure which day yet. This will be the last trip for the summer. The kids go back to school on August 18. I can't believe how fast this summer has flown by! Well, nothing much going on. I was thinking of taking the kids to Chick-Fil-A, so they could get out and play a little bit. Write soon!

  7. BTW...here in Utah some school districts are year 'round school and 3/4ths of the elementary school kids went back to school today! My daughter teaches 4th grade and starts up again on August 17th after a six-week break. Every nine weeks she's off for three. Interesting huh? I'd like a 3-week paid vacation every 9 weeks!

  8. I'm always amazed at how fast you stitch - I wish I could do that but I think I must be the slowest stitcher there is!!! Your Finch is really lovely!

  10. Wow. This is sooooo pretty! Aunt Chrissy has been lusting over this one for a while, so I'll be sure to tease her that you've almost finished it! (Tee hee!)

Gosh, when I was a kid, we had a summer that started the Friday before Memorial Day and ended the Tuesday after Labor Day. (Given the fact that I'm a box of rocks, though, perhaps the school year should have been much longer.)

  12. Gorgeous, Nicole! Those colors are beautiful but then all SB color schemes are so pretty to the eye.

Enjoy your trip! School starts way early there - wow. After Labor Day here so we're still lazy bums in the morning for a good while to go. LOL

  13. I love the borders on this one!! This Saturday I went to my LNS to buy the fabric for BTSS. Of course, they don't sell the one one I wanted (which is the same silkweaver you used), but she helped me pick out a similar style in another overdyed linen! The order has been made, and my fabric will arrive in a week (or two). Gosh, am I excited! This will be my first time using a non-solid fabric! I also got some of the fibers, but the others are coming in this week! I keep having to remind myself that patience is a virtue!

    Enjoy your Chick-fil-a lunch! :D

Oh, P.S. I showed Tawny (LNS owner) your site to show what the Silkweaver looked like, and she said, "Oh, Nicole! EVERYONE looks at Nicole's site because she she has so much beautiful work, and so regularly!" (or something close) So, I thought I'd tell you that you are popular even with the New Jersey crowd at "Where Victoria's Angels Stitch" (The LNS' name, JIC you don't know it. :P)

  26. Nicole,
Your work is beautiful. I just found your blog from the comment you left on Down Sunshine Lane about the Rolaframe. I'm a Q-snap user .. what is the benefit to the rolaframe? Is is hard to use? What size would you recommend someone starting with?

Thanks for taking the time, if you can, to answer my questions.

    Michelle
