I Feel so Blah...

I'm not sure what's wrong with me lately. I've just been so blah. It must be summer. I'm ready for fall. I was ready for fall in spring. I'd rather just skip right over summer - especially in the South where it's in the 90's everyday and the heat index is in the 100's. I have been stitching a little. I finished the model and got back to Village of Hawk Run. I'm working on the 3rd block now...

VoHRH as of 8/6/11
40 ct. Vintage Sand Dune, NPI silks (1 over 2).

I went stitching in Manning yesterday. I forgot to take pictures, but we had a lot of fun as always. It was great to see the regulars and to meet some new people! Chris and Myra came for the first time and their stitching (and sewing) was even more beautiful in person! It was great to meet you both!

I want to thank Amy again for putting together a wonderful get together. She goes through a lot of work for all of us! Thanks Amy!

School starts in a little over a week and I'm stressing big time! My baby is going into kindergarten and my oldest is starting middle school. It's a lot of change and I keep wondering where the last five years have gone! It's seems like I wrote this post just yesterday!! :)

  2. I feel the same way...and there's still so much summer to go. Your Village is beautiful. I love those Hawk Run projects but 40ct is too small for me!

  3. Oh Nicole, I know exactly what you mean. In fact, I think I suffer from summer depressions the way normal people suffer winter depression. ANyway, your stitching looks lovely and fabulous, as always. Don't you dare finish HoHRH before I do!

  4. I hope those blahs go away soon. I bet it doesn't help being stressed about your youngest starting school and your oldest starting middle school. They'll both be fine. Isn't it amazing how fast time goes? I'm facing my oldest being a senior in college and my youngest being a senior in hs. Unbelievable!

  5. Some people say that it is strange to feel the "blues" in the summer time, but I think that the incredible heat and humidity sap a lot of our energy. Anyway, I spend my "blah" days inside with my air conditioning, and soothe my disquieted spirit with some peaceful hours of stitching.

    Your stitching is beautiful!

  6. Great to see your flying fingers yesterday. ;) Sorry about the blah's, but totally understandable. As everyone says, the heat zaps you, even inside when the ac is working overtime. Enjoy those babies (they always will be) while you can!

  8. Hi Nicole,
It was great meeting you yesterday and seeing your beautiful stitching.
The blahs are here too. It is definitely the heat. I keep dreaming of fall but then I get mad because I feel like I am wishing part of my life away.
I hope that the boys start of school goes smoothly.
    Have a great week!
    Chris

  13. I think many of us are feeling the end of summer blahs. I am so ready for some cool and crisp fall nights.

Your stitches are beautiful - I haven't stitched at all this week, just can't make myself sit down in my stitching chair!

I know what you mean about the little ones too - they grow so fast!

  14. I am sure you will soon get over your malaise.
Our children grow up far too fast and now I am finding that the grandchildren grow up even faster, with all four of mine now at school. That's why you have to enjoy every moment with them.

  15. Wow! Congrats on getting your babe into Kindergarten..that is a milestone for sure! You'll love having a few hours a day to yourself! I am looking forward to winter days here where I have more time to stitch...but until then, I'll keep enjoying my summer mornings and hole up in the house the rest of the day! As always, I love to see what you've been stitching on! Have a fabulous week Nicole!

  17. I agree with you...let's skip right over summer! In the midwest, we are in a LaNina, which basically means, if it isn't raining...it hot and humid!

Make the best of it...until fall! :-)

    Happy stitching~!

  18. I hear ya! I haven't done any stitching this week. It's just too hot here to do anything. We had days with 120 heat index this last week, and every day was around 110. Blah. Summer depression always hits me. I can't stand it. My oldest is going to middle school this year as well. Where did the time go?!

  19. Hopefully you'll feel more energetic soon. Had to giggle when I read you're wondering where the last years went. Your kids doing the same as mine do. You just don't look for a sec and they're growing up. I'm still trying to ground my (grown up) daughters for that.
Love your Village square. It looks great.

  20. I know what you mean about summer, I am definitely more of an autumn gal. Your stitching looks wonderful, hope you're feeling more upbeat soon. Best wishes.

  21. Ugh on the blahs. I am teetering on the edge of the lost mojo abyss, so I feel your pain. I think it's probably the heat and then knowing you have all the upcoming changes. For me, I don't settle down until the third week in September, once I know everybody is situated and happy and things are settled. Hang in there! Your Village looks great.

  22. The Village is looking great. I hate these southern summers too and they say we need to get used to it cause it's the new way. UGH.

  23. Awwww, sweet baby pictures :-). Love your HRH piece too.

  24. I'm sorry you are feeling so blah, but I understand the heat doing that to you - we're on day 38 of temperatures of over 100 each day (and that's just the temperature, not the heat index).

I like your progess on Village. One day, I might start that one!
