Block Eight

I'm still working on VoHRH. Here is my start on block number eight. This block is pretty much solid stitching, so it's going to take me awhile.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend - it seems like it has been a really long week.

Hawk Run School House

I got block 11 finished up the other day!  Hope you all had a fun Halloween.  My boys were all ninjas.  They had a blast.  I also wanted to say how sorry I am for those who suffered damage and power outages during Sandy.  I hope all is repaired and restored soon!

UFO

I decided to pull out Village of Hawk Run Hollow yesterday. I haven't worked on in it over a year. I'm glad I got it back out because I'm loving it again.

A Third Done!

I just finished up block 3 of Village of Hawk Run today, so now I'm 1/3 done with it. This block is definitely one of my favorites!

The kids started school yesterday and are adjusting well. I'm so proud at how well Matthew did in his first day of kindergarten. My babies are all growing up!! :)

I Feel so Blah...

I'm not sure what's wrong with me lately. I've just been so blah. It must be summer. I'm ready for fall. I was ready for fall in spring. I'd rather just skip right over summer - especially in the South where it's in the 90's everyday and the heat index is in the 100's. I have been stitching a little. I finished the model and got back to Village of Hawk Run. I'm working on the 3rd block now...

I went stitching in Manning yesterday. I forgot to take pictures, but we had a lot of fun as always. It was great to see the regulars and to meet some new people! Chris and Myra came for the first time and their stitching (and sewing) was even more beautiful in person! It was great to meet you both!

I want to thank Amy again for putting together a wonderful get together. She goes through a lot of work for all of us! Thanks Amy!

School starts in a little over a week and I'm stressing big time! My baby is going into kindergarten and my oldest is starting middle school. It's a lot of change and I keep wondering where the last five years have gone! It's seems like I wrote this post just yesterday!! :)

Melicent Turner

I just received this pattern yesterday...

I can't wait to get started! Diane did a great job with the adaption of this sampler and I love the colors she chose!

I think I may use Vanilla Pudding instead of Baguette though. The Baguettes I have are all a little dark. The linen I'm thinking of using is 40 ct. WDW Straw.

I also finished up block 6 of VoHRH. I would have been done sooner, but I had to do some frogging.

Village Progress

I don't have a lot to share, I've just been working on block 6 of Village of Hawk Run Hollow this week.

Hope you all have a fun and safe 4th of July! :)

Finally!!

I finally finished block #12 of Village of Hawk Run Hollow!!

Village of Hawk Run Hollow as of 6/28/11
40 ct. Sand Dune, NPI and Vikki Clayton Silks.

I'm working my way up from the bottom. I'll work on block #6 next.

Amy wanted me to put out a reminder about the Pals retreat in Myrtle Beach in October. I'm looking forward to going for my third time. We always have a blast!!

Stitching ADD

I have been floundering between projects again. For some reason I've been having trouble sticking to one thing.

I ended up restarting my Birds of a Feather Mystery Sampler. I decided to use 40 ct. Vintage Pecan Butter instead of the Lentil (or Navy Bean).

DSC_0023

I like it much better on the Pecan Butter. I decided to go darker after seeing Amy's pretty wip at our get together in Manning.

After working on the mystery sampler for a little bit I got Ann Grant (excuse the wrinkles) back out...

DSC_0016

And then when I got bored with Ann I got VoHRH back out. I have worked on this one the longest lately. The black fill in is making me a little bonkers! I'm determined to get this block done though.

DSC_0012

I'd love to be able to stick to one thing and stitch it! Maybe I can do that for awhile with VoHRH.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has bought items from my stash sale!! I really appreciate it!! :) Hope you all are having a great start to summer!

A Gift and a Little Stitching

The kids are out of school (as of yesterday). I'm so proud of them both! They both got perfect grades and conduct (well Jake had satisfactory on self-discipline, but that's not a big surprise). Tomorrow is the big day of stitching at French Hen's with my friends and I can't wait!! It will be great to see everyone and it will be great to get away! The day after we're headed down to Florida for a few weeks.

I got a very sweet package in the mail the other day from Andrea. I sent her a chart and she wanted to send me something in return.

Gift from Andrea

She sent a very sweet little snippet bag that her friend made, some chenille trim, scissors and candle. Thank you again Andrea! I love it all!!

I have been stitching a little. I got Village of Hawk Run back out and finished block 9. Well, it's almost finished. I still have to put in the grass. I thought I'd wait on that because I always end up snagging my straight stitches.

After I finished the block I decided to get my Kind Fond Love Sampler back out. I forgot how much I love this sampler!

Startitis

Yeah, I've got it bad.

First I was going through Hawk Run withdrawals, so I got out my Hawk Run patterns and decided on one...

Village of Hawk Run Hollow
40 ct. Vintage Sand Dune by Lakeside Linens, Needlepoint Inc. Silk (1 over 2)

I picked Village. I just love this design. I started it awhile ago, but was unhappy with the linen (36 ct.). I'm much happier now that I'm using 40 ct. Only ... I really didn't want to stitch that graveyard again, so I'm skipping it for now.

As I was browsing blogs yesterday, I came across Deb's blog. I saw that she started Ann Grant, which I've had kitted before it even came out! I just couldn't resist myself. I had a piece of 40 ct. Summer Khaki that I got at Down Sunshine Lane, so I dyed it with some Tan Rit Dye...

Ann Grant Threads

... And got to stitching!

DSC_0009

I'm loving it!! This is one huge sampler though! It's going to take awhile! I'm also so tempted to start Susan Rambo, but I'm holding off for a just a bit. Not sure why - I think it's all the grass on the bottom (since I always start at the bottom). If those gorgeous flowers were on the bottom, I'm sure I would have started by now! :)

Well, I'm looking forward to stitching with all my friends in Manning on Saturday. It will be so great to see them. Maybe I'll bring Susan with me and start then. :) Write soon!

Finally!

I'm starting to feel better. I am not as tired as I was. I took a dear friend's advice and went out and got some vitamins! They seem to be helping. Well, since I started working on VoHRH the other day I was determined to at least finish that block. It seemed to take forever, but it's done! I pulled the threads for block 11 (I'm going backwards). They are so pretty! I'd like to get that block finished in March. So I'll put this away for awhile and try to get back to my rotation.

Mindless Stitching

I finally got up some energy to stitch yesterday. I thought I would just stitch on something that didn't require a lot of thought. I got VoHRH out (I haven't stitched on it since June 2007!) and filled in some of the mind-numbing black background.

Block 12 of VoHRH

Not too exciting, but at least I stitched! :) I feel more tired today than I did yesterday though, so no stitching yet today. I wish I could just feel normal again! Hopefully it won't be too much longer! Write soon!

Getting Back to my Rotation

I've decided to go back to rotating again. I seemed to get more done that way. I've decided to focus on the following...

Mon - A Simple Little Quaker
Tue - Village of Hawk Run Hollow
Wed - Pomegranate Sampler
Thur - Sunflower Bellpull
Fri - And They Sinned
Sat & Sun - Flip-it Bits/CHS Alphabets

Hopefully this will work out for me! And hopefully I can get some things finished up to make room for other projects I'd like to get finished and/or started! :)

I did work on VoHRH last night. I filled in some more of the black background on block #12.

VoHRH as of 6/6/07.
Carriage House Samplings on 36 ct. Vintage Sand Dune by Lakeside Linens using NPI silk.

I was thinking yesterday that I really must cut off the bottom part of my old VoHRH to use the linen for something else. I originally had started it on Light Examplar (don't know what I was thinking). I finally came to my senses and realized it was too light. Then I remembered Kathy Barrick-Dieter from Carriage House Samplings posted that she needed cross stitch "dead or alive" to cut up and make pendants and I thought maybe she'd like my old VoHRH that I was just going throw in a box or something, so I emailed her and she said she would like and would pay me for it in cash or charts. Of course I chose charts! Have you seen my wish list! :) So I thought that was pretty cool. It will be neat to see my stitching in her pendants. Maybe I'll buy one to get a little piece of my stitching back.

Anyway, that's all I've been up to! We are going to be getting ready for Bradley's 7th birthday party! It seems like just yesterday I was driving to the hospital to have him! Time flies! :)

A little bit of stitching this week...

Thursday I went back down to the Golden Needle. I decided to give them one more chance. :) The shop is so cute - even if some people were a little rude. I stitched some on Village of Hawk Run Hollow while I was there...

VOHRH as of 1/17/07

I didn't get a lot done - just filled in some of the black background. While I was there I signed up for a class with Susan Greening Davis making little strawberry pin cushions. They're so cute!! :)

Sunday I dropped off the kids at my MIL's and went stitching at JoAnne Nantz Needlework. I got a little bit done on my Game Board Sampler...

I also got a pattern while I was there...

And because I don't have enough going on right now, I've decided to start this...

And here's my little progress pic...

I'm enjoying it so far! :) Well, I think my life will slowly be getting back to normal. Dh went back to nights today - I can once again stay up late and stitch while watching whatever I want! :) Kinda selfish of me, huh? ;)

I have one last pic to share... I captured this shot early this morning while everyone was still in their p.j.s...

Well, not much else going on here. I'll write more later!

Autumn Leaves Progress

I got a little stitching done on Autumn Leaves last night. I was catching up on my soaps and Desparate Housewives. :)

I also got a little bit more done on VOHRH the other day...

I'm really enjoying both projects. I'm hoping to get Autumn Leaves finished by the end of November, so I'm really going to concentrate on that for a few days. Hopefully I can do it. I have to leave you with a picture of my silly cat. He's so lazy and won't move once he gets in bed. You can push him out of the way, throw the covers on him and he stays put!

Well, everyone is sleeping or being good watching Blue's Clues, so I think I'm going to stitch for a little bit! Write later!

A teeny bit of progress...

Village of Hawk Run Hollow - Block 12
Village of Hawk Run Hollow as of 11/22/06.

Here is my little progress pic. I'm so happy with the fabric. I'm so glad I started over. :) I didn't get any stitching done today. We went to my brother's in-law's house. They're like our family - they always invite us to their get togethers. They're so nice. I woke up in a bad mood though... I was tired and grouchy and I didn't want to go and my mom wasn't letting me out of it. She told me it would be rude for me not to go. So I went - the kids had a blast, which was nice for them. Matthew was very fussy today. I don't know if he's getting a cold, had gas, or teething, but he finally just fell asleep. I gave him tylenol cold, gas medicine and oragel. One of those things, or all did the trick! :) Hopefully he sleeps all night - that would be so nice!! I need sleep!

Dove Dark Chocolate
Dark Chocolate - the sanity saver!

I'm going to have a little bit more chocolate and then try to get a little stiching done before I can't keep my eyes open any longer! Write later! :)

VoHRH progress...

I got a little stitching done today - none yesterday! I stayed in bed all day. I'm feeling a little better today. Here's my latest progress pic on The Village...

FSCN0444

Sorry for the wrinkles! Not much else going on... I go to the doctor tomorrow. He'll let me know if I'm dialated, effaced, etc... Hopefully things will get going soon! :)

I got a package yesterday...

No, it wasn't more stash! :) My grandma made a quilt for the baby! She's made quilts for both my boys, but it was still a surprise to get in the mail yesterday. I love the border on it!

Quilt - no flash

I also got started on block #2 the other day. I haven't got much done because I spent a good part of the day cleaning out the kid's room. I took out three huge garbage bags worth of junk!! It's just amazing how fast it accumulates! Anyway, here's my progress pic...

VORHR - block 1 and 2

Sorry it's not the greatest pic... feeling lazy today! :) Write more later!

VOHRH - Finished Block #1!

I got block #1 finished today! I'm so happy with how it turned out! I could not get a straight scan to save my life though! So here's my crooked scan pic...

VOHRH - Block #1 finished!! 7/10/06
Block one started 7/6/06 - finished 7/10/06.

Two weeks until my due date! Both the boys came a few days early, so I'm thinking maybe sometime next week?? We'll see! I went to Babies R Us today. A friend gave me a gift card so I put it toward the purchase of a new swing. I like it because it's small and portable. I think it will be good for when we go down to Florida.

Speaking of Florida... my husband said they are 99.9% sure he will get the job in August. The sheriff just has to sign off on it on July 21st, so we'll definitely know by then. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm going to miss Georgia... it's so pretty, especially where we live now - out in the woods. But Florida is beautiful also.. the beaches and palm trees.

I get to drive to Alabama again tomorrow... yeah! And I have to get up at like 5 am to go, so I'm going to bed very soon!!
