Elizabeth Mears

I decided to get Elizabeth Mears back out yesterday. I really would love to get it finished up sometime this year. The castle is what made me put it away. It's huge! This is where I left off last year...

Elizabeth Mears progres as of 5/6/11

And this is where I'm at now...

Elizabeth Mears as of 3/12/12
40 ct. Vintage Meadow Rue, NPI silks (1 over 2)

I also worked on Christmas Garden a little bit...

Christmas Garden
40 ct. Vintage Lt. Examplar, CC and GAST (1 over 2)

I'm almost finished with the border. It really is such a fun sampler to stitch.

Another sampler I've wanted to stitch for a long time is Shakespeare's Peddler's "Spanish Mystery Sampler." I decided to kit it up after seeing Natalia's beautiful finish!

Threads and linen

Not sure when I'll get to it, but I love it! Well, I'd better get going - I have a date with the copier at my son's school. :)

  2. Oh gosh, seeing your Elizabeth Mears reminded that I bought that chart last year and I think I kitted it up too. Not good. I guess I better look for it because yours is looking wonderful. You really made a lot of progress on the castle.

  3. I had a tiny start on Elizabeth Mears but then put it down - I was doing the Spanish SAL with the Attic last year - started off with a bang but then got distracted - I will say it is a fun stitch but doing those LOOONG bands of the same thing over and over can be tedious. It is a good project for mindless stitching so hope you will enjoy it. Melody

  9. You really are moving on both of your samplers! They are both fabulous. I like how you changed the "Christmas Garden" to an alphabet, like Katrina. I am thinking of doing that as well.
    Can't wait to see more.

  10. The first sampler is gorgeous! But stitching that white/offwhite section (of which there is alot) would send me over the edge! I can never make white or off white (or any really light colored) thread look right. Altho it could be the close up lenses eye glasses I use which shows every imperfection - LOL! When I hold my work at a distance, it looks great! The second one - I'd say you got more than "a little bit more" done! You are really tempting me into getting this one too!

  23. You and I have the exact same tastes, I'm convinced! I was eyeing Elizabeth Mears recently and went for Sarah Elizabeth Brooke, but as I watch you work on this one she might move up a place or two ;) I will enjoy watching you stitch this one!
