Kindred Spirits Finished

Kindred Spirits stitched up so much faster than I thought it would. It was a really fun project to stitch!

Fabric: 36 ct. Days Gone By Silkweaver Linen
Threads: Belle Soie Silks - Noir, Lasagne and Kiwi
Started: 9/28/09 - Finished: 9/30/09

Now I have to find something else to stitch! I think I'll get back to my CHS Alphabet or maybe Goode Huswife's With My Needle. I haven't worked on that in a long time. I would love to get it finished up one of these days! Write soon! :)

Kindred Spirits

I worked on "Kind Fond Love" for a little bit and then I got bored (that's been happening a lot lately). So I decided to restart an old project I had started last year. The Primitive Needle's "Kindred Spirits."

First here is the little bit of progress I got on KFL...

Kind Fond Love Sampler
40 ct. Vintage Light Examplar, DMC (1 over 2).

And here is my "Kindred Spirits" start...

Kindred Spirits
36 ct. Days Gone By Silkweaver Linen, Belle Soie silks - Noir, Kiwi, and Lasagne (1 over 2).

I'm loving it so far! I was not happy with the fabric I was using before, and I'm much happier now that I'm using the recommended fabric.

The weather has finally cooled down here in South Carolina. It's been such a hot summer and it's such a relief to go outside and not have it so hot and humid that I can barely breathe. I have the windows open and the air off. It's so nice to hear the birds singing and feel a cool breeze! Well, nothing else going on here. Maybe I'll get out and enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts! Write soon!

Peppermint Lane

CCN Peppermint Lane
(c) Nikki Leeman of Country Cottage Needleworks

I love this new design coming out by Country Cottage Needleworks! It's a must have and must stitch for me! I love everything about it - the colors are so sweet (no pun intended)! :)

Well, no stitching for me. I got an inner ear infection (my first ever - my mom gets them all the time), which caused me to get very bad vertigo, which caused me to be sick. Dh went to the store and got me some motion sickness medicine. Thankfully it helped. I'm still a little queasy, but I am doing much better.

I also messed up "Kindred Spirits." I didn't think the fabric looked right (dh said it looked like someone spilled orange Kool-Aid on it). So I decided to dye it a little darker. Well, I ended up dyeing it too dark. So then I decided to start over on a different piece of fabric (PTP Relic), but I didn't like that either. I hate it when I'm so picky! It drives me nuts. I should have just stuck with the original fabric because now that I look at the pictures again I see it looks fine. Oh well, I ended up ordering the recommended 40 ct. Days Gone By from Silkweaver. Hopefully I will get it fairly quick and then I can still get it stitched around Halloween.

For now I think I will get back to "Acorn Hill." Write later! :)

Wow!!

Thank you all for your very kind comments on my class piece! I still can't believe I actually finished it. I did start a few things over the weekend and I finished one!

Pine Tree Hill
Little House Needleworks "Pine Tree Hill" from the JCS 10/06 issue
Fabric: 28 ct. Creme Brulee by R&R
Threads: Crescent Colours and DMC

My two other starts were by The Primitive Needle, which I think is becoming my newest favorite designer.

Kindred Spirits by The Primitive Needle

This one is "Kindred Spirits." I'm stitching it on 40 ct. Vintage Light Examplar, which I already had in my stash. The threads are Belle Soie Noir and Kiwi and Sampler Threads Bittersweet.

The Primitive Needle "Simply Live"

And this one is "Simply Live." I first saw this on Monique's blog and fell instantly in love! I saw it at Mary's shop over the weekend and came up with my own color scheme using all four of the conversions listed in the pattern. The fabric is 40 ct. Pearled Barley by Lakeside Linens.

Well, I'm going to get back to stitching while Matthew is taking a nap! Thank you again everyone!! Write later! :)
