Very sad....

I've been knitting my sock while watching the news in downtown Atlanta unfold. There was a shooting in a courthouse and the suspect has killed a judge, court reporter, one sheriff's deputy and possibly another deputy. It's just so unbelievably sad. It especially hits home because one year ago today my husband was shot in the line of duty. Thankfully he's doing fine now. I just feel so deeply saddened for those who were killed and their families. I just couldn't imagine where I would be right now or what we would've have gone through if my husband wasn't here with us today. I just don't understand what's wrong with some people. What are thinking when they shoot a gun at someone especially a police officer or judge, people who are there to uphold the law and provide safety and security for us all. Well, I didn't mean to get off on a tangent. It's just really affected me.

  1. I just sat down, turned on CNN and began surfing my fav blogs when I heard the news of the shooting for the first time today. Unbelievable....it's really hard to believe. I too, feel sorry for the families involved and glad to hear your family has come through a similar tragedy.

  2. It is very sad indeed. First the judge in Chicago whose husband and mother were killed, now the shooting in the courthouse (and outside) in Atlanta. My heart aches for the familes. No one should ever have to be in fear for their lives from doing their job.
