Shepherd's Bush "O Say."

Just a quick post to share a little finish. I started this last Friday while waiting for my oil to be changed and decided to finish it up tonight. I'm still a little down, so I haven't felt like stitching too much. My hubby should be coming home this weekend though. I knew I was going to miss him and that it would be hard, but I didn't realize how hard it would be. Hopefully it will get better. Although right now I'm ready for him to quit and come home! But I know that's not possible and I know it really will be better in the long run for our family. I just need to get used to the separation. We keep saying one day we'll look back and laugh - I can't wait for that day to come! Write later!

Your post about the charts from Kathy Dieter Barrick was way too cool - enjoy your new stash!

  5. {{{Hugs}}}. Your finish is adorable - what are you going to do with it - I wasn't sure if it was going to be a fob.

Hang in there with your DH being away; I know how tough it is - when I first got married, DH was in the Navy in the US, and I was living in Australia - he didn't get out of the Navy until after our first wedding anniversary, so we only saw each other for short periods during our first year of marriage.

You will look back on it and laugh, and he'll have a great new job at the end!

  6. I love your Shepherds Bush piece Nicole. At least you have a greay hobby like stitching to keep you busy while your DH is away.

  10. I love the little sheep! I've got to find this pattern. I know how you feel, my husband has had to travel before, just recently we thought he'd have to go to mexico, I had my fingers crossed that he doesn't have to go. It does get better. Just try to keep busy and write him a letter if it helps.

  12. I know it is harder than hard to be everything to your children all day long and miss your husband on top of it too. You have a great attitude about the whole situation and it will all work out in the end :) We're all supporting you!

    Love your finish...it's a cutie!

  14. Aw, I love your finish! I have that one to stitch someday. The little SB kits are the cutest!

I understand how hard it is with your husband out of town. My hubby travels twice a month for a week or more at a time. I have two little ones at home too. At first it was awful! But it has slowly become easier and I have a routine I follow no matter what :) It’ll get easier as time goes on and everyone gets used to it. I wish you the best :) (at least we have our stitching at night to keep us busy right?)

  18. I know what you're going through! Back in 2003, my husband went overseas with the Army Reserves and I fell apart, I could barely even stitch during those days. He was gone for 6 months and it was hell for me; some of the other women were doing fine but I cried every single day. BTW, I love Shepherd's Bush and your little design is so cute! 19. I love you SB piece. I've done that on e too, and it's so quick and pretty when it's finished.

I'm sorry you're so down about your DH. I know it's easier said then done, but absence does make the heart grow fonder. Think how wonderful it's going to be when he's back in town.
