Argh!

I decided to get Sweet Treats out and work on it some. I then read the notice on the back of the new thread pack that says the border is off by one. I figure no big deal if it's just the border. I then read that there are supposed be three stitches in between each block. Oops! my blocks are only two stitches apart. So I had to do a ton of ripping. I ripped out the first block and much of the border. Here is what it looks like now. I'm getting back on track. I was ready to throw it in a drawer and forget it, but my friend Debs convinced to keep at it. :)

Debs and I have also decided to do a SAL together. We're thinking of doing "Wool Needlebook and Fob" by LHN. Anyone want to join us? Here's my floss toss...

I think I'm going to go with the 30 ct. Even though it's stiff, which I hate, I do like the color. Well, the kids are bugging me to use the computer. Write later!

  7. Oh how disheartening to have done all that work, I can so understand your wanting to give up, but Im glad your friend talked you out of it as its such a pretty design.

Your SAL is lovely too I have seen that made as a needlebook and scissor fob on someones blog and it was delightful.

  9. So sorry about Sweet Treats, Nicole. It's bad enough when we ourselves make a mistake, but when the pattern has a mistake in it, what chance have we got? Good on you for keeping at it after having to frog. I probably would have tossed it in the drawer until I got over the disappointment :)

  10. Ugh! I hate frogging. But the entire piece is so wonderful that I'm glad you kept going. I just ordered all of the thread packs for Sweet Treats a few days ago. I am going to stitch the entire set over 1 on 25 count fabric. Yours looks great!

  11. Oh gosh what a huge pain to have to take out all of your stitching!! I can't believe they made such a huge mistake on the pattern. It is great that you decided to keep going though because it is looking really pretty!! I read your blog to me and I want to take a pic of all the completed blocks. Maybe I can get that done this afternoon! Thanks for the great suggestion! Debby

  13. How awful that you had to pull out so much because of an error in the chart.

Your SAL sounds good - I'll be watching for progress pictures from both you and Debs!

  14. Glad to see you persevered with your 'sweet treats' piece. You will be glad you took the time to fix it when it's all done. It's so cute!

I'm showing my lack of knowledge, but what exactly is a SAL?
