Home again!

I just got back from Florida last night. I was able to stitch a little bit while I was down there. I worked on "The Riddle" some.

The lighting at my mom's wasn't too great, so I decided to start something else. I found some 25 ct. Natural Dublin linen at my LNS down there and started Drawn Thread's "Sampler Game Board." I have been wanting to start this over for a long time now.

I also decided not to work on "The Marriage of Minds" any longer. I took out the words and cut off the rest of the linen.

I think I'm just going to frame it as is. Maybe I'll send it to Jill Rensel one day for custom mats and have her paint our names and wedding date on it so it will still be a marriage sampler. :) Well, I'm so glad to have all the boys home again. I missed them so much! Matthew is glad to have his big brothers home again also. Write soon!

  1. Not familiar with the Riddle design, but it looks pretty so far. The gameboard looks good on that 25ct linen. Your work on the marriage sampler is just beautiful and will definitely look great as is, so congrats on the finish. CJ ok;-)

  2. Wow, you really are in a Drawn Thread mood! I just love the Riddle! That fabric is wonderful! And the Sampler Gameboard is one of those that I bought long ago and never picked up to stitch. The Marriage of Minds is definitely great just as is -- I hope you do send it to Jill for that Jill touch!

Drawn Thread is new to me but I love your start on "The Riddle" already. Very pretty. I'm liking that Vintage Fawn linen too!

  7. I love the fabric you're using for the Riddle piece. And I think that your portion of Marriage of the Minds looks fine the way it is. That's a good idea to have Jill paint something on the mats!

  12. Your pieces look beautiful as ever!
Love to visit your blog, you have the neatest finishes. I'm admiring your frame here. Do you use this with a lap stand or floor stand? Is the basting system easy to use? I'm asking because I'm thinking about purchasing this system.

  15. Lovely DT WIPs Nicole! I really like MoM like that and think it will look wonderful framed with JR mats. Life's to short to stitch on/with fabric and threads we don't enjoy! :)

  17. Your stitching looks gorgeous, Nicole. So happy you had the chance to do some while you were away. Sounds like a wonderful idea you have to get Marriage Of The Minds matted and framed at Jill's. Make sure you show us the end result if you decide to get it done this way.
