I love IKEA!

I took my mom to the new IKEA in Tampa while I was down there. I would love to have an IKEA house - I don't think there is one thing I wouldn't like from that store (including the food - their sweedish meatballs are so good)! Well, I'll never be able to afford to have an IKEA house, but I did pick up this cute shelf unit for $19.99! I put it together in about 15 minutes and got out my finished stitching that had been hiding away in my closet. I put the unit near my stitching spot in the living room, so I can look over and see it. These pictures aren't the greatest because I don't have good lighting in my living room, but you get the idea...

Well, I didn't get any stitching done yesterday. It was a lazy day for all of us. I did go to the grocery store, that was about it. Bradley, my nine year old, has started liking Harry Potter. We listened to the first book on the way down to Florida and he really liked it (I did too). I got him the 2nd and 3rd books yesterday and he's already on chapter four. I'm so happy he's a reader! Anyway, I hope to get some stitching done today! Write soon!

  3. I love what you did with that display shelf! What gorgeous things, and all beautifully displayed! IKEA is great, isn't it? My sister and BIL are IKEA people. :D I'm glad your son is a reader too. My daughter is a reader, but not my son, and I regret that hugely.

  9. The shelf unit is perfect. Love the display. You do such beautiful work, it is a shame that they were hidden away. I love IKEA too. There is one close and it is hard not to walk away with half the store when we go. lol We do just go for dinner just to get the yummy meatballs. Had to buy the mixes to make at home to tied us over. Enjoy the week and Happy Stitching!

  10. Ikea is so much fun!! You really can customize it for whatever--in this case cross stitch!

Can't say I like everything there; but I sure like the 59 cent dish towels I bought there last week! ;)

  12. I love all of your beautiful stitching displayed like it is on your new shelf! I need to get mine more organized like you have! I didn't stitch this weekend either. We spent way too much time outside i the heat working. Jerry is building me a beautiuful frame for Ida Mae Crow to take into my LNS next Saturday out of exotic wood. A lady wants to see it in there. The wood is so beautiful already as he has made grooves with his router. He is matting as well. I will send you a photo when done. Glad you had a good weekend!

  21. that is a really pretty display of all of your stitching. I would love to see your samplers you have stitched. I think one time you counted them on your blog and there were about 90 finishes! One day you'll have them all framed and hung and what a wall that will be!!!
