Mindless Stitching

I finally got up some energy to stitch yesterday. I thought I would just stitch on something that didn't require a lot of thought. I got VoHRH out (I haven't stitched on it since June 2007!) and filled in some of the mind-numbing black background.

Block 12 of VoHRH
36 ct. Vintage Sand Dune by Lakeside Linens using NPI silks (1 over 2).

Not too exciting, but at least I stitched! :) I feel more tired today than I did yesterday though, so no stitching yet today. I wish I could just feel normal again! Hopefully it won't be too much longer! Write soon!

  2. I love your start on Village. And even when you are just doing some background stitching - it's stitching.
I hope that you will feel better and stronger with each day.

  5. Glad to see that you're feeling well enough to stitch again. Even a little bit of mindless stitching is better than no stitching at all!

  7. Ewwwww! I hate those black backgrounds. I'm currently punching on a design that has a black/gray background and I'm about going crazy trying to get it done. It's the last shade to work with.

    Those tombstone's look goolie!

  16. Mind-numbing for sure, but look at all the other interesting blocks you've got to do. No background filling with them by the looks. :) Hope you're feeling back to your chirpy self soon!

  18. Hope you get well soon, Nicole. I don't know which bugs are plagueing the planet right now, but I wish they would just leave us stitchers and our families alone.
You did some great work on the Village though!

  20. It looks great Nicole. I hope you feel better soon. I have also been sick for the past two weeks or so. Just horrible. I had a UTI and then got the flu. UGH!

I got the stitching chair I bought from you in the mail about two days ago. Thanks so much!

And thanks for the wonderful comments on my Flea Market Souvenir sampler. I am so thrilled with it that I can't stop looking at it. I think I am going to get it framed and then let it hang over my stitching cabinet with my old sewing machine on top :)

Have a great weekend. Wish you were here up north on my island, I am having my finishing weekend with some stitching friends at my house!

  22. Your stitching looks great and you and I are in the same boat - I put down Houses about the same time you did. Makes me realize I better pull this out again. And I like your choices for Frances Eden. I started this on a darker fabric and DMC threads - I like your choices and as I'm not too far along may make the switch now.

  23. It's so good to hear that you're feeling better, at least enough to do a bit of stitching, albeit mindless. :) Go easy on yourself so you don't relapse.
