Bored

You know I'm bored when I post twice in one day! I should be stitching, I want to be stitching, but I'm not, hmmm.... Anyway, I decided to try coffee dyeing some fabric. I really like how it turned out!

I just let soak in some coffee for about 15 minutes. I sprinkled some salt in the with it. I rinsed it out some, not too much. I didn't want to lose the color. That happened to me before. Anyway, I'm happy with it! The fabric was white Belfast and Cashel linen.

I also went to the bead store by my house today and picked up some beads. I made this fob for myself today. They had these crystals together in a pack and I fell in love. They are more autumn than winter, but I think they're pretty!

I also stopped by my LNS today. I really only needed threaders, but something else jumped in my hands...

Well, that's all. I'm going to stay away from the computer and fabric and anything else distracting! Write later (not today)! :)

  1. Your fabby turned out great. I think I'm too scared to dye my own :)

Your fob looks nice. My favorite colors! Good luck with the getting back to stitching. I can't stay off of the computer long enough to get any stitching done :p

  3. I have to make one of those fobs Real Soon Now. I really liked that you joined your scissors and threader. Those are the only two tools I always need. I am always losing my threader (then buying another one and finding the first one...). You fob is lovely.

  7. The fabric and fob turned out great. I didn't add salt when I dyed my fabric in coffee, but I let it boil for about an hour. It even survived a quick bath in Dawn dish soap.
