More Fun in Charleston

I decided to take the kids to the South Carolina Aquarium today. They had a lot of fun, even if it was freezing outside! We were not prepared for the cold. We only had light jackets with us. Here's a few pics...

Giant Sea Turtle (real)

Jake sitting on a Giant Sea Turtle (fake) :)

Matthew waiting for lunch (see his purple lips - the poor baby!)

After we got home and warmed up a bit, Matthew took a nap and I stitched some! I got the bottom part of the cabin finished. I just need to do the roof now!

Well, not much else going on. I'm dreading going home in two days. I really wish I had the nerve to tell everyone that I'm not coming home, but I just can't do that to my mom and my brother. Plus I don't want to take Bradley out of his school in the middle of the year. That happened to me too many times when I was growing up that I don't want that for him. It's not always easy being the new guy or girl. It won't be long until we're all together again as a family and we have our own place. It's just hard right now. We'll make it - one day at a time. :) Write later.

  1. I can understand not wanting to take Bradley out of school, but you shouldn't let that make your decision for you. I was an Air Force "brat" and changed schools many times while I was growing up.

You have to do what you think is right for you, your family, and your marriage, but as you said, it's a waiting game at the moment, so just wanted to give you a {{{hug}}} and tell you to hang in there!

I'm glad you're having a good time in Charleston!

I understand about the school change my parents did it to me all the time...and it sucked =[ i went to 15 elementary schools from 2nd to 6th grade...i know crazy!and got pushed back a year when we moved to mexico because i was so far behind

Anyway...I know what you're going through must be really hard, but your doing the best for you and your family right now. It'll all work out fine, I'm sure!

  4. Charleston is so beautiful and charming - I've only been once and it was in June one year a few years back so I don't know what it's like to be there in the cold but it sure does get HUMID and hot too :) The pics of the boys are great ~ looks like they had oodles of fun despite the cold. Did you go to Bubba Gump Co to eat? It's really goooood - the pic of Matthew in the restaurant kinda looked like the place inside. If not, you have to put it on your list! It's good fun and great atmosphere for families.

Your stitching is lovely ~ that chart is in my 2008 pile of wanna make. LOL

    Safe journeying home,
    Tanya

  6. I love aquariums. LOVE them - so I'm sure you and the kids had a ball. It's a great way to spend the afternoon.

And my Vera Bradley case came today - THANK YOU for posting about them. I just love it and it's going to make taking stitching on the road so much easier.

  11. I love the pictures of Charleston! I have never been there before. I am so glad that you like it there though since you will be moving there eventually. It has been really cold here too and I am just freezing! Our house needs better windows etc. for the cold. Your Prairie Sampler is really pretty! I have that one too and you inspire me to start it sometime. Have a wonderful time while you can there!! Hugs Debby

  13. Beautiful work! lovely colours!

A few school changes are actually good not bad. If this is the 5th school already for your boy, I'd be worrying ... but you need to do what you need to do for you. There are other lessons in life that are more important than school (e.g. family togetherness).
